Until today, Northam was actually pretty reluctant to issue the order, even though he was under pressure to do it, but a bunch of dumbasses decided to go to the beach over the weekend and it pissed him off. Jerry Falwell, being the ass that he is, didn't help matters either.

Well stay at home order until June 10 should erase any doubt as to the severity of this situation.

Stupid yes but there is this thing called the Constitution. The original Essential Service...

“[Government] shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” (First Amendment – U.S. Constitution)

You don't have the right to put everyone else in danger.

Period.

Amen.

The issue is well settled that the gov has emergency powers to restrict any kind of behavior it wishes for the common good in disasters and epidemics.

Stay at home issued till 4/30 in Arizona today. In reality, it is pretty worthless as the Gov has listed just about everything as an "essential service" and thus exempt. The previous social distancing order was largely ignored and this will be as well.

What Govt is that? Not State government and I doubt you can quote any Federal Laws that over rule the Constitution that gives us the right to assemble for Religion.

The federal government derives its authority for isolation and quarantine from the Commerce Clause of the U.S. Constitution.

Under section 361 of the Public Health Service Act (42 U.S. Code § 264), the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services is authorized to take measures to prevent the entry and spread of communicable diseases from foreign countries into the United States and between states.

SCOTUS decisions. Do a little research before you throw out your right wing opinion.
