I don't know, not feeling the comparison.

U.S. Surgeon General Jerome Adams said on "Fox News Sunday" that the next week will be "the hardest and the saddest week of most Americans' lives" — calling it our "our Pearl Harbor moment, our 9/11 moment" — as the projected death toll from the coronavirus pandemic surges.

The curve is flattening. If the "rate of increase has stopped increasing", as you said, then the curve is flattening. It is still exponential, and the exponent is now smaller than it used to be.

Significantly more people will die than did at pearl harbor.

NYC deaths have already passed 9/11.

We are now up to around a thousand people in the US dying each day. The number has been going up daily and is likely to soon get much worse in the coming days.

I am updated regularly from Palawan as to exactly what is going on and they are most certainly under a very strong lock down. Curfew is 8 pm and my fiance has to carry a pass to go replenish the family grocery store.

Further,

MANILA: The Philippine government said an emerging consensus is for the lockdown on the main island of Luzon to be extended for two weeks. https://www.thestar.com.my/news/regi...down-extension

That basically means the lockdown will continue in the other provinces too.
This talk of cities in the Philippines begs the question are American's prepared to being forced to go to the Barangay Captain (sort of a neighborhood Mayor) to get a pass for one family member to be on the street to go to a market?

Ya, but than you must also consider the fact that a regular flu season kills more Americans than those two events combined.

One good data point in Cuomo's briefing today he said 74% of those admitted to NYC hospitals for covid have been discharged.

So of the ~20% who go into hospitals most are making it out.
