The problem is that the Chinese government is so secretive and they had people on the ground who saw this unknown virus as a potential problem, but they were too afraid to say anything. They are a closed society, with no transparency and yet they want to function as a traditional economy with no restrictions on travel or trade. All together it was only a matter of time before a virus outbreak from China would happen.

But ultimately, it's our leaders that failed, because they should have seen this potential threat from the beginning and prepared for it.

This was a serious attack on the world by China covering up the potential damage of covid-19 followed by their attempts to pin the blame on an innocent nation (USA). It's obvious that we need to be more careful in our dealings with China and never let them get a technology or military advantage over us.

I worked in China and enjoyed my time and work there so I had no animosity towards China before their actions taken during the pandemic which they essentially caused.

Our government chose to shut down the economy and now 10 million people have lost their jobs. Whether it was the right thing or wrong thing to do, is debatable, but the cost was 10 million jobs either way. The job losses will continue as long as the government strangle hold continues.

You can find others to blame if it makes you feel better.

The American companies are the sell out. IMO, they re the people pushing for trade agreements.

We should ask Nixon and Kissinger.

At least Sam Walton was made in America business owner. That company started China on the road to what it today after Mr. Sam died. That's when we sold our WalMArt stock.

If anything, coronavirus has exposed how woefully inadequate our pandemic preparation is, so we should be thankful the virus isnt even worse.
At least with those other countries, response would've been much swifter since no one country would have such a stronghold on the economy as China does. Also, those countries tend to not have nearly firm a grip on their citizens and international image as China does. If there was a serious problem like this, it'd be a lot more apparent early on (and easier for other countries to prepare for).

If American companies won't manufacture in the US, the best bet would be to diversify even further.

Relying so heavily on one country was incredibly unwise for reasons we're starting to see now.

And how many people have become injured or died because China was using toxic ingredients in their manufacturing. And don't forget the people injured or killed by China knock offs or killer dfugs like Flaaka?

China haters gonna hate.

COVID-19 could have easily originated in the US. What song and dance would you be doing then?
