I know we do in my line of work (software).

As a professional politician she should've considered conflict of interest the minute they started tossing that idea around. An advisor should've brought up that issue if she didn't.

The point is to inhibit the virus from spreading. Too many people don't realize (or don't want to) that locking down a neighborhood after it goes full blown is too late! It's like closing the barn after the horse gets out.

The lockdown is intended to save the people who seem to resent it the most.

It is very clear that most of the people writing here complaining about governor Whitmer don't even live in Michigan. They are being spoon fed talking points, and it is all politically motivated.

The plain and simple fact is the governor is fairly popular in her state, and the agitation directed against her is an extension of national politics not a parochial dispute.
I don't care how popular she is nor do I care where people live that have opinions on her abuse of power.

She is abusing her power. That is plain and simple.

The lockdown is a knee jerk "me too" reaction.

I like her. She's doing a good job while being criticized by idiots.

I hear her state is in danger of a full armed rebellion against her.

She did extend Michigan's stay-at-home order to May 15th today and recommended masks in public, but also relaxed quite a few restrictions:
- Nurseries & garden centers can reopen
- Big box retailers no longer have to restrict access to "non-essential" items
- Boating & golf allowed
- All other non-essential retail can do delivery or curbside pick-up
- Landscaping and lawn service companies can resume operations

I have been critical of some of her decisions but was glad to see these common-sense relaxing of things.

So you think it is a wise move to outlaw the sale of tomato seeds?

Do you really need Big Government to tell you exactly how to live your life?

I'm a Yooper in semi-retirement in AZ.

Not an official poll...but....

All of my friends and relatives in Michigan expressed your sentiments.

Folks around the country think of Michigan as Detroit, maybe even Ann Arbor.

Regarding most of the land area in Michigan....got a much better chance of hitting a deer with your car, seeing a moose, or having your chickens chowed on by wolves than getting the dreaded COVID.

There were at least four county sheriffs in Michigan that raised their proverbial middle fingers to Guv'na Half-Wit. They were not going to enforce her gestapo tactics.

All I know is that my son's quite prestigious summer camp near Traverse City decided to call off this year's session. It has operated continuously for 93 years.
