I read an article today where Trump was saying that it was unfair to give aid to states run by Democratic governors. What?

Call me crazy, but when Trump took on the role of President of the United States, he pledged to be the President of ALL Americans. Isn't that correct?

That's Americans who are all colors, genders, religions, and yes, all geographic areas and political affiliations. The job is all inclusive.

For him to blatantly pick and choose who he wants to help in a time of a national crisis is unconscionable.

What happens when your personal life circumstances change and you wind up on Trump's "bad side?"

If he wants to pick certain Americans and openly abandon others, then that makes him invalid as the President of the United States.

Perhaps "Americans" that deride, and openly scorn their POTUS, and actively work against his attempts to provide for the welfare of all Americans, should be considered "invalid Americans".

You know, like the fake media, and the almost half of the population that calls themselves Democrats.

Just sayin'

Him and McConnell, both.

They want blue States to pay for it, but not receive anything back, even though blue States are the largest contributors. So, basically they want blue states to bail out the red ones.

It pretty much defines the word 'corruption'.

I don't know which article you are referring to, but I have heard both he and others from the administration say repeatedly that loss of incomes and revenues resulting from actions taken to combat Covid-19 should be reimbursed (an attempt to make the state "whole"). What shouldn't be reimbursed are budget shortfalls (eg. unfunded pension liabilities) that existed for many years prior to the appearance of the virus.

Sigh. I can hardly believe I have to say this: political favoritism to some states depending on which party is in power has always been a thing. Why do anti-Trumpers act like everything he does that they don't like has never been done before? The vast majority of things that people complain about regarding Trump are simple SOP politics.

I agree. However, asking politicians to stop playing favorites is incredibly naive. Pretending Trump invented this behavior is just stupid.

Do you have a link to the article?

If true, that's very myopic thinking. Even in the bluest of blue states, roughly half the population is red. It's the people who suffer, not the governors. They would be punishing their own just because they live in a state where the person they voted for didn't win. If he thinks he's withholding political favors from these governors, he's not. He's giving them political fodder and he's encouraging people not to vote for him, even if they are typically red voters.

The more important questions are where are all the threads demanding retribution against China, demands for transparency from China, demands for corps. to return their manufacturing to the US, demands for...................yeah.................just blame Trump. Freakin' infuriating.

Do the democrats hold themselves to the same standard as they do Trump when they support noncitizens !!! Their pick and their choice !!!

Democrats invalidate themselves as representatives of the American people !!!

With equal standards your complaint would be we don't have a government at all that is representative, yet we have elections and we elect them !!!
Do you have a better plan than the one we currently have in place ? Maybe a dictator of your choice who will represent everyone if they like it or not !!!

^This.

The Dem run states, and only the Dem states, want more than just reimbursement for the cost of the virus, they want bailouts from years/decades of mismanagement.
No wonder the OP refused to put a link in her OP, the facts hurt her narrative.
