It's hard to tell what the OP is trying to prove, but it seems like their point is something like:

"100k deaths is not so bad, now that we know there are more people infected, spreading the virus, and infecting even more people. It's OK because the rate of death as a percentage is lower, so we have something to thump our chests about."

Honestly, OP. What is your point? Are you questioning that 100k people have died in the US?
Are you saying it's a good thing that more people are infected, because it makes those 100k a smaller percentage?

All I know is that these are preventable deaths. I don't, and have not advocated for a total shut-down, and I'm thankful that we haven't had one yet. I just hate all the misinformation that comes from all sides. But clearly, the Trump-base is doing more harm by minimizing this.

Was Trump also right when he said "we have this under control" and it will "go away like a miracle". That was over 90k dead-people ago. Was that a "win"?

Is it not understood the CDC reports to HHS (Health & Human Services) a federal agency?

Is it not understood HHS reports to the President of the U.S. and the president appoints the agency chiefs that report to him, including HHS? The agencies of HHS, which include the CDC, are under the control of the prez.

If the CDC is not providing accurate or timely info take the matter up with the management of CDC and HHS. Register a complaint directly with the prez. He's on twitter, afterall. Those are his direct reports, his agencies.

"We the people" are dependant upon the U.S. agencies to provide their services to the U.S., which includes timely and accurate information, to the best of their ability.

Indeed. The difference couldn't be more stark. The false equivalency in comparing this to the "flu" is ridiculous on its face. Had we allowed this to continue unfettered, deaths at this point would be 250,000 easily.

Much of this dissonance may be based on the use of the word flu.

Common colds and flus, respiratory and GI, are not Influenza.

If it doesn't induce fear and fulfill a larger agenda the media doesn't want to touch it. Today's media is weaponized sensationalism and propaganda.

This is kinda the opposite. The OP sensationized and misrepresented a "fatality rate", it WAS in the media, with the appropriate amount of coverage.

Take a wild guess why our stats are greater than all other nations.... Even greater than 3rd world nations, with no healthcare.....

Follow the Money.

Who made money on this.
Who benefited the more deaths that occurred?
Was there an incentive placed on a body count?
