They get jobs in whatever professions they're trained in: doctors, engineers, etc.

Did he say, that cutting the PDs' budgets = cutting the number of officers? Or, as another poster implied, might his interest be more in cutting waste in the system?

Why would "trimming the fat" be illegal and "insane", vs. perhaps--prudent? Perhaps even--long overdue?

LA democrats get stupider everyday.
if they want to put money into these areas then it should come from someplace other than the police budget!!! complete lunacy

1. Note the misuse of the word "reinvest." As if the city can expect a valuable return in its "investment." Instead of wasting the money on overpaid, angry, and otherwise unemployable "community activists" with useless college degrees.

2. I would think that what "communities of color" -- and we of "no color" -- really need is more police protection.
can't forget we gotta pay sanctuary cities to aid illegals the 5 star hotels for the homeless, and bloated salaries pensions and benefits for politicians

No, it isn't. See below.

+1
Why don't more people check facts before speaking? (he asked rhetorically)

We've been doing this since 1965 with Johnson's Great Society and specifically in areas like Watts post the riots and again in 1992. Zippo on results.

If LAUSD instituted training like computer networking (Cisco cert), electrician, plumbing, construction, etc you would hear HOWLS of racism from people.

See above. LAPD's budget is no where near $2 billion.

Exactly.

People who want these riots stopped are being called fascists and boot lickers.

The gun control debate is over though. The entire Democrat party, along with most libertarians apparently, are in lock step solidarity with the Antifa terrorist organization. They're burning down our cities but the left don't want any form of law enforcement

You mean, vs. offering nothing career-oriented? No one howled about it, back when "shop" or voc-tech classes were part of the school program. Those would be electives, not required courses. Students who are college-bound would choose other courses. And btw, some jobs in those fields now are requiring, that applicants have experience with engineering on the computer. Schools have fallen behind developments in certain employment sectors, that used to offer entry-level positions for unskilled workers.
