Looks like many GOP states are just going to choose to ignore much of the spike in COVID-19 in hopes that as President Trump on the virus "like a miracle, it will go away".

Arizona, Texas and Florida seem to be doing everything they can to be in the COVID-19 position NYC was in April.

Many GOP states have handled this pandemic terribly with the exception of Wyoming, Utah, South Dakota, North Dakota. They had their cases in all three states but overall they did better than a vast majority of states on this and had reasonable restrictions while keeping their economies intact.

It seems like where the summer is hottest is optimal for COVID-19 because the people are inside in communal environments with central air conditioning.

Arizona I think is going to have a very, very rough summer. The people who manage the state just walk in a room and brag about how much hospital capacity there is.

I do think the hyper-indivdualistic culture of Florida, Arizona, Texas plays a role in the cases skyrocketing. The everyone for themselves culture of the three states doesn't really work out for them well in the midst of a massive pandemic.

Arizona, Florida, Texas have alot of people living in very, very crowded multi-generational household in urban areas going to crowded stores to keep the electric bills down during peak hours.

Leftists are as cowardly as they are deceitful.

These so-called "experts" have been routinely wrong throughout this whole exercise. And as usual, they error on the side of excessive alarmism and panic-mongering.

There is no significant problem in either Texas or Arizona that cannot be managed within their current resources and within current operating parameters.

What is with the Democrat left's obsession with dominating everyone in such a way as to lock them down and to ruin them economically and financially, to the largest extent possible? There should be a psychiatric diagnosis that is applicable to this affliction and it is an extremely nasty one at that.

The ice cream king (Ducey) is almost as big a moron as Trump. Their mishandling of this whole thing is resulting in genocide. There should have been a total lockdown, back in Feb. Nobody on or out of any town, worldwide. Planetary ground stop. All shipping in quarantine. All known cases transported to isolation camps. Everyone freeze in place. Only exception being Natl Guard tossing MRE cases onto people's driveways so they don't starve.

The ONLY way to eradicate this without a vaccine is to starve it out. Or it will ultimately kill millions.

And instead we have maskers vs anti-maskers.

I mean is the virus going to just Disappear?

What is your solution? Stay locked in our homes until the vaccine shows up? Unless you need to go out and riot over a dead felon?

I am perplexed, first, whether this suggestion is a snarky taunt, or a serious proposal; and if serious, whether its particular excess is one of cruelty, or stupidity.

It's not too overblown. It's not just about the possibility of death. It's the health issues some people are having, including younger ones, who have been “recovered” for well over a month and now can’t walk anywhere (even from one room to another) without getting severely winded with pain in their lungs. They may have been healthy non-smokers. Of course, people should fear the virus, because they don't how well their bodies are going to handle it.

It's called "herd immunity" and that's what very liberal Sweden is doing: just asking the at-risk population to shelter in place while the economy remains open.
