I believe that the protests played a big role in people giving up on precautions. They just said “screw it” and hit the streets en masse.

Is it really any surprise that here we are, a few weeks later, and the college-aged bracket is the group rising the most in COVID numbers?

Simple! When will people get that it isn't everyone else's responsibility to make them safe? You're scared? Stay home. Control your own little world and stop trying to run everyone else's.

No. They probably are all Republican or Independent or "other" though because there's no place for that kind of thinking in the Democratic party. There's also good reason to question it since the WHO and Dr Fauci said they wouldn't make any different and specifically told people NOT to wear them. Or has your TDS blinded you from those very publicly known facts?

I think that some people were born blind, lived their whole lives blind and will happily die blind, and their TDS is just a manifestation of the obstinacy of their blindness.

Yep! They asked for it, didn't they? Who's killing grandma now?

The people in charge should have known this would happen. My background is in the mental health/social services world. It seemed obvious to me that extreme rules imposed for an extended period--even if for a good reason---would result in a reckless backlash that would be unstoppable.

Now people have fatigue about so many rules, and won't even wear a mask. This could have been avoided by imposing mask wearing as the primary rule, and being less draconian with some of the others. In the beginning of the pandemic, everyone wanted to buy masks. That's why they had to lie to us and tell us they don't work--because we didn't have enough.

Exactly! There was no need to use the melodramatic words "freaking out" in the topic heading that was meant to demonize those of us who just don't like wearing a mask for personal freedom or have trouble breathing in them. Not liking it but complying when it's mandated is "freaking out"? Huh?

You're right on with your remarks about the hypocricy that mostly the left lives by to.

You're right on and Biden expects us to wear them clear into 2021? Ain't gonna happen! If one wants to do that then that's their choice but those of us who don't aren't going to tolerate this clear into 2021.
