We are talking about a generation that is incapable of discerning between US Grant and Robert E Lee. They probably thought Douglas was Nathan Bedford Forrest.
Can you imagine the level of minds it takes to do this? Well, you do not have to. It's on TV every day.

The Right does not topple statues and vandalize, katharsis. That is the Left's game.
Not to mention, most on the Right know who Frederick Douglas was and LIKE him. He was a brilliant man and it was despicable of the leftist malcontents to do this.
He was black not a confederate... so why was he damaged...do the protestors not know their history?
He was also, a former slave, self taught, and an advisor to Lincoln. They don't know or care about history, They just destroy, block roads, kill children, break glass, physically attack people (especially Police), and foment hate. A mob is just that, an unthinking mass of anarchists bent on unlawful mayhem.
Hate blinds people, when people only hate, they can't know the truth. That's what happens when you are only guided by feelings. There is no Logic, reason, and/or knowledge involved in decisions. They're mantra is: ''Don't confuse me with the facts, I've already made up my mind.''
The cancel culture club children don't care, they just want to take it all down.
