The senate had their chance to boot this disaster out at the impeachment. Unfortunately this is going to cost them votes. People are fed up with trumps shenanigans.

EXACTLY! Trump should have resigned when he was impeached, that was the single best thing he could have done to mitigate this disaster. Allow a competent administration to take the helm, even if it was a Pence administration. His failure to do so has put the Republican party in jeopardy, and he now has them in the situation where if they don't stay loyal -- he will gladly take them down with him. And make no mistake, he would sell out Republicans in a heartbeat. If he isn't re-elected, why should any other Republican be? They didn't support him enough so he considers it their fault.

If the president has time to rage tweet all day long.

I'm sure the governors can spare half an hour to talk about Trump's failed presidency.

You just checked them out yesterday, didn't you?

Four years ago, Business Insider talked about mergers, oil, housing, technology, healthcare cost, and economy.

Nowadays, they talk about Republicans mutiny, Bunker Boy failed presidency, coronavirus, 140,000 death Americans, protests, GOP treason, and America losing their world status. Because that happens to be the business news we have today.

No debate, no new information, just "Trump sucks" basically. And why is that? Because what I said was the plain and simple truth. The law of the land. The pure essence of what our country is based upon. The federal government has specific powers. All other powers not specifically given to the federal government are held by each individual state, and the people. That and that alone was the substance of my post, and it wasn't addressed in any way with this response.

From the link provided above:

"The power of the federal government to regulate and make laws is limited by the U.S. Constitution, which grants express and implied powers to regulate. Express powers are granted to the U.S. Congress in Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution, which gives Congress the right to regulate such matters as the coining of money, the post office, and the military.
Along with the express powers, the federal government also has the power to make all laws that are necessary and proper for executing any of the stated powers. When Congress makes laws under this provision, it is using its implied powers. Implied powers must be related to one of the express powers.
Matters that are not within the express or implied powers of the federal government are generally left to the states to regulate. The Tenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution provides, “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”
The federal government could at least keep track using one method so we know what's really happening.

They could also be the purchasing agent for all so the states are not in competition with one another driving up the prices for PPE, etc. It's all coming out of the taxpayer's and rate payers pockets anyway. What's it costing Medicare and Medicaid. Do the feds have a fiduciary duty to the taxpayers?

Why is it so many of you celebrate "state's rights" when one state or another is "sticking it to the president" on some hotbed issue, yet you suddenly want Trump to become a totalitarian ruler when it comes to this virus. You can't have it both ways. State's rights also equal state's responsibilities.
Then why has the President declared himself a "Wartime President" during this crisis? Why is the President now dictating how schools should reopen? Why is this President the source that Governors had to "speak nicely" to get assistance with supplies? No he can't declare himself Head Kahuna and the Leader and not take the responsibility with it.

The Federal Government has provided almost no Leadership with Pence in charge of the Task Force after all he is more concerned that the faithful can attend a Trump Rally and now we have Secretary of Education who believe that all kids should go to private faith based school rather than public schools so she can get the money. Of course the Trump Recovery Team is a bunch of Political hacks and family members, no surprises there...

And all the while the 5 year old in charge is harassing and lambasting those same States Leaders publically and on social media or at least those who are from the other party. No one wants Trump in charge (not that's he's capable of it) but they don't need him undermining their efforts or the efforts of the legitimate science community who people trust far more than him on this pandemic.

The Federal Government should have provided a baseline response for each state to build from, they should have allowed the health agencies involved to provide the guidance and most of all they should have set an example for others to follow, none of this has occurred so Trump and can take his efforts and shove it.......

Saddest of all, even though it was much more deadly in terms of numbers....

Our nation despite their limited knowledge at the time, earnestly tried to
quell the spread of the "Spanish Flu" 1918 - 1921 pandemics that hit in
3 separate waves.

There is a fascinating documentary on YouTube called "We Heard The Bells
The Influenza of 1918". I highly recommend you watch it. You will learn
more about the history of origin of global pandemics.

Pandemic viruses originate in animals, usually birds or fowl before they mutate.
Pandemics are a natural progression of the biologic life cycle. As long as there
are humans, humans will suffer occasional pandemics that decimate the population.

Only the scientists involved and research can provide any answers.

If Trump bothered to watch and learn from this important documentary,
he could have encouraged the public to mobilize and cooperate in order to
bring active cases down. As long as people eat poultry and fowl, we are
going to have pandemics. Viruses are part of the biodiversity of populations.
The fact that we can engineer them in the lab is only a modern twist of fate.
Airborne viruses only survive when they can invade a living host's soft tissues
of respiration. Other viruses are transmitted naturally via direct touch with
interior soft tissues, example herpes or HIV

Scotland resisted much of the plague centuries ago when masks were worn
by "doctors" who donned a contraption that looked like a giant bird. The full
bird mask dress was an accidental PPE suit that prevented cross contamination.
That combined with enclosed, windowless rooms where the ill were housed
separated created the essential prevention of airborne droplet contamination.

In other words, wear a damn mask when you are out in public.
