And the thread devolves into another anti-leftist rant. Whatever. Well hopefully the Twitheads will come up with a reasonable compromise, or at least a clarification.
Precisely! Antisemitic attacks and venom are becoming more and more prevalent on the left, and somehow leftists are attempting to blame that on Trump! It also explains why the Democrat mayors are allowing scumbags and street thugs to destroy their cities: they are hoping that the worse they can help make it, the more they can blame it on Trump. Why else would mayors embolden criminals this way?
It shows the level of madness and hatred to which the radical left has fallen. They are intentionally allowing, even enabling, their cities to be burned down, businesses destroyed, innocent people’s lives ruined, because they are hoping to say “look how bad things are under Trump.”
A closer look at the situtison -- Star of Davids all over Twitter.
It seems their algorithm tagged stylized versions and so a few accounts got deleted -- Articles I read -- maybe a half dozen accounts.
Of course it is in appropriate to remove those stylized versions. And algorithms are sloppy and messy and not the best for removing posts. They should be reviewed individually.
But Lots and lots and lots and lots of posts of great images of the Star of David.
Unfortunately , if you remember last summer a right wing group was using the STar of David inappropriately in their propaganda. I guess the algorithm developed to remove that kind of hate tweeting also allowed for images that were not meant as hate against Jews.
Again, an imperfect system that should be addressed publicly.
Star of David imagery is going viral . Not sure that Twitter's algorithm banned all Star of Davids. From the articles I've read it did ban accounts that with highly stylized versions. Definitely a poor algorithm and definitely not the right message but hardly a blanket statement that all Star of David imagery is 'hateful imagery'.
Waiting to see if Twitter addresses this issue.
There are thousands of memes and images mocking Christianity and any religion in general . Does Facebook or Twitter ban them??
Even in this forum there are users( Toyman jewel lake, AHenriques) etc called Prophet Mohammad with profanities?? Were they banned??
Free speech is allowed as long as it isn't against them. Even double standards should be applied equally to everyone.

But this makes no sense...why would Twitter ban a handful and not the bulk?
There is a ton of Star of David imagery on the site.
It's isn't about the Star of David. It's about poor algorithms that can't weed out stylized versions honoring the Star of David from stylized versions hating on.

yep.
even the OP's link mentions that the nazi yellow patch was used. IMO it's absolutely ridiculous and delusional to believe that twitter has a blanket ban on the star of david and yet...... we have several posters in this thread that believe just that.
will be curious to hear a statement from twitter and/or the anti-defamation league.
"We categorically do not consider the Star of David as a hateful symbol or hateful image. We have for some time seen the 'yellow star' or ‘yellow badge’ symbol being used by those seeking to target Jewish people."
... just became a "hate symbol" in Twitter's psychotic rules, then I guess they're an actively antisemitic platform and company.
