If you have issues with mask ordinances, find someone else to pick on. Going after the minimum-wage retail worker who can't answer back for fear of losing her job is cowardice of the lowest order.
Indeed.

Felonies are often pled down to misdemeanors. Nothing unique to Illinois.
So pushing an employee just because they tell you to wear a mask or get out of the store is a felony offense, but, if they push them just to get them out of their way it's only a misdemeanor offense.

Basically anything coronavirus related, a felony offense. Non-coronavirus related, misdemeanor offense.

Make sure all employees are also wearing BLM and gay flags too, this way if they are touched or looked at in any way, shape or form, it will also be a racially motivated and hate crime to boot, reported in the media, prosecuted and sentenced accordingly.

Any?

The 50,000 +/- inmates in Illinois state prisons would beg to differ.

To impose consequences for murder, first it is necessary to locate the murderer.

Most murders in Chicago are drive bye shoots and involve gangs or those affiliated with / related to a gang. Mistaken identities and bad shots are factors, too.

Witnesses, if any, tend not to come forward, even when lucrative rewards are offered.

When a camera picks up tags, it is often a stolen car. Auto theft is an epidemic in the US.

Seeing mothers and the superintendent of police on local news begging witnesses/ people with information to come forward is a nearly daily occurrence. There is no way for any Police Force to prevent animals from shooting/ murdering others.

Federal agents have been working with local and state police focused on gun trafficking.

Anything coronavirus related? Hardly.

People are not being arrested for not wearing a mask.

People are not being arrested if they do not self quarantine after testing positive, with or without symptoms.

People are not being arrested for failing to social distance.

This thread is about patrons assaulting retail and restaurant employees. Why bring BLM and gay people into this?

The perpetrator's motive, intent and state of mind is a factor in pretty much all criminal law and has been since the rassum frassum Romans.

Yes but not distinguished between my motive is that Im mad because I was asked to wear a mask and, I was asked to cover my butt crack, or my nursing baby or over a mask and I just had a really crappy day and they looked at me funny.

motive, intent and state of mind goes more to premeditated vs spontaneous or provoked.

Sorry, this is not a liberal vs. conservative or Rep. vs. Dem issue. The law was created to deal with an emerging problem, and yes, it's related to corona virus. Many of these store workers are MINORS and it's usually a stiffer penalty to assault a minor, anyway.

The ONLY person who would have a problem with this law is someone who refuses to wear a mask in a store and wants to fight about it. The rest of us are doing just fine.
