He was shot in the back for reaching for a gun, perceived or otherwise.

More people get murdered in the inner city every week than in Afghanistan.

That stat uses the wrong denominator. It isn't total population that matters, it is police interactions that is the proper denominator. If you understand proper statistical analysis, you will understand that white men are more likely to be killed by police.
Of the included 5494 fatalities involving police from 2013–2017, 2353 (42.83%) of the decedents were White, 1487 (27.07%) were Black, 939 were Latinx

On average, there were large racial/ethnic inequities in the rates at which White and Black people were killed during police contact. Across all MSAs, Black people were 3.23 times more likely to be killed compared to White people (95% CI: 2.95, 3.54, p<0.001). We applied a precision-weighted multilevel modeling strategy to estimate the racial/ethnic inequities in these fatalities across MSAs and identify MSAs with marked Black-White inequities

Active warrant? Holding a knife? Reaching for another weapon? Disobeying orders?

Yes, he deserved to get shot.

And as soon as he’s able to walk again, they’re escorting him straight to jail for his active warrant.

I think the totality of his background/behavior killed him. His prior felonies, pulling a gun out in a threatening manner before and him completely ignoring the guns drawn on him as he opened the driver side door. Let's have some personal responsibility here. Where is it?

Apparently all these rioters needed to see was the 'viral' video of a Black man being shot by cops, and next thing you know there were out there rioting on the streets.

These morons don't even give a hoot about finding out the entire story, all they care is that a Black person was shot by police and regardless, such events deserve rioting and looting.

Predictably, multiple mainstream media outlets are portraying a gushing portrait of Jacob Blake, the guy who got shot. One was talking about how he came from a family of activists, another showed social media pictures of a smiling Jacob with kids.

The reality is, Jacob is a walking time bomb, convicted of sexual assault among other crimes to include violent resisting of police in the past that caused injuries to the officer. When you have such an individual like this, and he openly defies police officers holding a gun on him and casually walks away to look inside a car, what do you expect the officers to do? There have been incidents where police were killed because of these types of things.

And why can't people grow up and realize that complying with a police officer is hardly 'demeaning' or 'racist,' it's what you better damned do regardless of your race, especially if you have a violent record as Jacob did.

Yet another reason why race relations are getting worse, people automatically come to the defense of violent criminals who openly defy police, and use such incidents as examples of 'racism' and 'police brutality.'
