And think about it...ALL Bette Midler could say about Melania was to make fun of her accent. Never mind that Melania has class. Never mind that she has intelligence (She speaks six languages). The ONLY thing Bette could comment on was her accent? People, that's laughable. Instead of getting all up in arms, you should just be laughing. It's a reflection on Bette being dopey. Not Melania.

Just the same way that both sides have had incredible amounts of corruption over the years. I know we tend to circle our wagons here but let's keep it real at some point and have a bit of humility when it's required.

I've got no problem with circling the wagons when it comes to policies and agenda. And to a lesser degree, I have almost no problem with attacking the looks of actual voted in, politicians. THEY signed up for the job, although I think it's pretty lame to make fun of their looks too.

Republicans said similarly rude things about Michelle Obama while her husband was in office, and I don’t recall it being front page news, although it was certainly discussed ad infinitum on C-D and other forums. Mrs. Obama didn’t give it the time of day, and neither does the current First Lady. When women don’t behave the way other people think they should, they’re often attacked in deeply personal ways. I’m glad Melania isn’t rising to the bait. She’s shouldn’t. It just feeds the beast.

She also tweeted, “get that illegal alien off the stage". . ..so much for the dems narrative on the land of immigrants and diversity, which is why she has since apologized

I thought the liberal left loved illegal aliens? I guess they love them only if they are Democrats.

Unbelievable. I’m no fan of either Trump in the White House, but if we are going to hold ourselves to a higher standard, this is not alright.
Why is it "terrible"? It's more or less true. She can read a prepared speech, and she's fairly fluent, but Melania herself knows her shakiness. She could have studied to soften her accent at any time, but didn't. I wonder how well she can write, if not coached.

Michelle Obama got caught scratching his balls in a few pics, and sits like a sasquatch, makes ugly facial expressions, etc. and some ugly fashions. Also hates the USA and is racist.

Melania is beautiful, has class and decorum and is smart. she has these intriguing cat eyes and is sweet and humble.
I dunno. While I might not support her politics, Michelle at least demonstrared ability to complete a professional level of education and demonstrated some level of skill in professional achievement even before being First Lady.

Melania basically showed her T&A in risky photos and married a rich old guy. That is about it. I guess that is smart in a way... Maybe you consider that "decorum" if you're the type to frequent truck stop strip clubs.

Also, with your use of "Sasquatch," aka raising Gorilla stereotypes, I suspect your biggest issue with Michelle was that she was black.

Not a fan Trumps. Heck there is even questions on how many languages Melania actually speaks fluently....

BUT... that doesn't change the fact that she is multi-lingual in at the very least English and her native language. That's more than many here (and throughout the US) can claim.

That comment was uncalled for.

The difference is no Republican celebrities (there are so few) said anything about M. Obama. Some people on social media still go after Michelle Obama, but they're nobodies.

The hypocrisy of either side is what gets them into trouble. You can't call Trump a hater of all immigrants and then attack someone saying they still haven't learned English. If someone said that about anybody else, Midler would be on it - and rightfully so.

Spouses and kids should be off-limits, in my opinion.

It was boring, she stumbled and it was obvious that there was a teleprompter-the viewer should not know there is one.
Why is it a problem if a first lady does not have a post-graduate education? FLOTUS is a ceremonial role that requires one be a good hostess. Some first ladies have made more of the position than that, but it’s hardly necessary that she have a degree to fulfill her duties.
