I think he'll walk. For a lesser degree or manslaughter, I could imagine a conviction, but 1st degree? I could imagine a prosecutor trying to appease as many sides as possible; they'd go with 1st degree, and make arguments as best they could, which should satisfy one group, but they would know that the odds of conviction are pretty low, with the end result satisfying another group. The first group won't like it, but it will be possible to say "the process was followed, and a jury of peers decided to acquit." Law in action...
He will not even get a manslaughter. The only charge that might stick is possession of dangerous weapon by a person under 18.
But other than that I agree with you. These charges are political moves from the DA (who is an elected official) to appease the mob.
Is their victim still a victim after the violent criminal has "paid his debt to society"? The rape victim should just forget about it, right? The person who was crippled in a vicious attack, like so many have by BLM/Pantifa terrorists? The dead should just rise and come back to life when the criminal POS is released from prison?
Why do leftists ONLY empathize with vicious criminals-and NEVER with their victims?
Sounds to me, like you really do not agree with the American system of justice...after all, the second chance, someones ability to start over with a clean slate, is one of the founding principles of the American justice system!!
