I think property owners should short pay their property tax bills by 1/4th since that is the approximate amount used for law enforcement and fire protection. Since they are not being allowed to do their jobs, then they don't get the money.

Use that money to hire private militia as needed. If local gov't won't do their jobs, property owners will....and their militia's.

Where are all these restaurants that need armed guards? I haven’t been to one.

It would be a waste of money and huge liability. People have no right to protect their property anymore. In some states, you can’t even use a firearm to protect your life. The police need to protect people, but they’re not doing it. Basically, businesses and people now have no choice left but to be terrorized.

Ok. You shoot some loudmouth BLM protestor or whatever. Soooooo...what then? You think the restaurant just returns to business as usual?

Folks are being silly. Scrap the idea. It ain’t worth it nor is it necessary.

I saw one incident with unarmed protestors in DC maybe there were others but now we need armed guards, just a bit of an overreaction don’t you think.

I think enough restaurants have closed as it is without poor solutions such as those.
I want restaurants free to open for business without political restraints. What that looks like is entirely up to the business; masks, no masks, distancing, regular seating etc.
Why would increasing security mean "further debt"?
They dont teach biz 101 at Karl Marx U do they?

So a security guard doesn’t add to overhead, do you understand finance let alone liability. What you want is to help restaurants increase the infection rate, how does that help the economy, who is going out to eat when the infection rate is 20%.

Where did I say adding additional security doesnt add to overhead? People can decide for themselves if they want to eat out or not.

In the real world, security costs money and the average restaurant isn't operating with that much of a profit margin in a typical day. But sure, let's throw the cost of armed guards on top of reduced profits. You're not paying for it, right? Why should you care?

The customers will pay for security like they do the rest of the overhead. Where did I say increased security would be armed guards?
