We needed direction and a national plan of attack/action. We had none.

We should have known it wasn't possible. We Americans voted in a TV reality show host to be our president. He said he knows words. He was smarter than the generals. Only he could fix it. We believed him. We have only ourselves to blame. Where are our greatest Americans to rise to lead our country. There has to be someone out there.....where is our Churchill or FDR?

I feel the same way. We don't know if things will be much better with Biden as POTUS, but it's certain that they'll get much worse if Mad King Donnie is re-elected.

Apparently, Trump downplaying the Corona virus is somehow an example of Churchillian leadership.

Never mind that Churchill never spoke from rooftops during the Blitz. And that he certainly never told the British that everyone's going to be safe. The man who spoke of "blood, sweat, tears and toil" didn't downplay the risk to keep people from going into a panic.

Churchill spoke like an adult would address an adult audience.

FTR, I am not calling out Trump for not being as oratorically gifted as Churchill. That bar is set way too high for most. But he could at least get his facts straight, if he's going to compare himself to a statesman like that.
If you watched the movie, "Churchill" he did almost give up but got the courage to fight back. I don't think he told his nation to hide and we are all going to die.

Biden already said what he would do----go back to indefinite lockdown, wear masks everywhere or be in trouble. Seems like a government take over but if we go into socialism it will be a government take over anyway.

Does any of this sound like Portland?
Now you've done it.

Q is going to read your post and the next thing we will be hearing about is the Antifa Air Force dropping bombs on Portland.

He didn't downplay the threat. He didn't say "one day, like a miracle, it will go away". He had the nerve and the steadiness and the resolve to tell a nation that they were going to have a very rough time of it, for years, if they were to beat the Nazis. That is leadership.

And then Trump has the freakin' nerve to invoke Churchill's name when defending his crisis response, freely making up a couple of supporting details that never happened. No decency. No integrity.

Or you could always attempt to address the subject.
