It is an ongoing look into 9 ballots in envelopes that were discovered in a pile of envelopes requesting mail in ballots. The unusual aspect of this is that Trump has announced this and has the Justice Department making statements on an inquiry that is yet completed. BTW the workers themselves reported it when they discovered their mistake. It is the vital duty of government not to announce partial facts and 'potential issues' in pending investigations, but we all know Trump weighs in first and now has Barr to put even more weight on the scales of Justice before all the facts and evidence are weighed. This is part of his disgusting MO. Interestingly there are 2 other envelopes in that pile that are opened and it is not stated for whom those votes were supposedly cast. Come on...see this for what it is...Donald J. Trump up to his old calculating cheating ways. It hurts America and benefits only DJT.

Wake up Trumplicans. Our President of the United States has been spreading and spewing unfounded accusations about rigged elections and fraud since the last election. He is deliberately attempting to undermine public confidence in our democratic process. He think he gets to decide who is the winner. That was very quick that the military got their ballots and already sent them in. I requested mine back in May and still haven't gotten it. No, I don't live in a big city, but a neighboring county to Luzerne.
BTW, there is no marking of your party affiliation on outside envelop. I have voted by mail for 10 years. Yes, I know you need to put your ballot in the privacy envelop for it to be counted. I also know you can bring your ballot to your Board of Elections up to the day before the election which I have done in the past. This year that is what I plan to do. Not mailing it in. The Board of Elections has a big bin behind their counter marked US Mail Absentee Ballots. You can watch the clerk put it in there. There are no separate bins for "R" and "D". They would have no way to tell that!
Edit: I do know that after the Primary PA was still counting mail in ballots for DAYS after the election. Hope they get their act together this tme. In hindsight I should have just voted in person for this election. I am a Democrat.

HARRISBURG - On Monday, September 21, 2020, at the request of Luzerne County District Attorney Stefanie Salavantis, the Office of the United States Attorney along with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Scranton Resident Office, began an inquiry into reports of potential issues with a small number of mail-in ballots at the Luzerne County Board of Elections.
Since Monday, FBI personnel working together with the Pennsylvania State Police have conducted numerous interviews and recovered and reviewed certain physical evidence. Election officials in Luzerne County have been cooperative. At this point we can confirm that a small number of military ballots were discarded.
We had a dem elected governor who was BEHIND but AFTER several bags of votes were night found late at night and surprise, surprise ALL the votes were for HIM.
Of course after he was sworn in he held an "investigation", and surprise, surprise the "investigation" found NO wrongdoing!
And don't forget, the envelopes that you mail your ballots in are marked "R" or "D" so you pretty much know who the vote is for without even opening it. Plenty of opportunities for fraud.

It's funny that the left is attacking the press release as "unusual" instead of focusing on the substance of what we know so far A lot of things are unusual. Comey announcing that Hillary was under investigation was unusual as they normally neither confirm nor deny the existence of an investigation. But the "unusual" can be expected to happen during a contested election in an effort to be transparent with the American people. Why is this a bad thing?
One vote not counted at all or correctly is too many.
I want my vote to be counted.
