A husband is connected to his wife by sacred vows and is nowhere near as likely to leave when domestic circumstances change for the worse. In most cases, there is a much greater bond present.

It would help the black community immensely, it would help others too.

In case it hasn't been noticed our society is no longer focused on family. I remember 30 years ago everyone was concerned about the nuclear family and family values.

Now you hear next to nothing about either concept. It's all about rights. Nothing even like responsibility comes into it.

This rot has devastated the black community far worse than others but the rot is spreading.

It is still not correct to say a husband is more important than a father. A bio Dad married to one's mother but who is a **** father isn't helping the child at all.

Look Jen, I'm not disagreeing with you or trying to argue with you. I'm simply trying to say that this message will be much more productive for the black community that what is currently being pushed. The message on the shirt worn in the commercial is meant to display an alternative message to what is currently in the mainstream, and I think it will yield good fruit.

Being a grammar snob, I was gratified when I googled the shirt to find that it actually says "Black Fathers Matter".

I like it. They do matter.

Would you agree that having the mother and father living in the SAME HOUSE as the children would be advantageous? (Married or not.)

What makes a father a father is how well he takes care of his kids.
Marriage is a commitment, which according to the empirical data, is not popular among many black sperm donors.

It's about the father that doesn't abandon his kids. The fact that the high percentage of crime committed by blacks can be traced to the those who were not raised properly. Those that are raised in a single parent family. When 70% of black children are raised in a single parent family, those children will be worse off late in life.

Sleazy to ignore that.
