Same reason many are. When you offer welfare which encourages people to not work, to not stay together and raise their kids enough will take the money and shirk their responsibility.
It is still not correct to say a husband is more important than a father. A bio Dad married to one's mother but who is a **** father isn't helping the child at all.
That's the other angle here. Being a father is not a skill you're born with. It's one you learn from fathers around you as you are growing up along with many other skills you learn from a stable community in which you grow up.
If you have never had a father in your life then there is little to offer a child.
Women are having a very hard time finding fathers.
Our friends on the left seem to be eerily absent from this thread. Could this be because democrat values are not in line with the traditional nuclear family, nor does BLM find any value in it either? The best thing that could ever happen to the black community is something that the left and BLM hate. Go figure.
Again, you have things confused. What the child most requires is both a father and a mother being the ideal, having nothing whatsoever to do with marital status.

It does matter.
If you look at stats, two parents BEING MARRIED produce the best outcome for the children. It's a legal commitment to the family.
