Generally, if a person is in line when the polls close they get to vote. Here in Nevada we got mail-in ballots. We filled ours out and dropped them off at one of the many locations around town to avoid the USPS shenanigans.

The Supreme Court has ruled that ballots are accepted as long as they are received (in this case postmarked) by election day.

But this thread wasn’t meant to be political. I just want to make sure my vote counts, and I anticipate long lines.
Super convenient that a Supreme Court packed with Trump loyalists decides mail in ballots must be received on Election Day right at the same time that Trump loyalist and mega donor takes over the post office and deliberately slows down the mail.

I mean what a kooky coincidence that is!

Of course, they will also close if a clear winner is declared, as happened when I lived in Seattle and Bill Clinton was declared before our polls were closed. All those people standing in line - for no reason.
