You guys are actually making the case for closures.

Actually we're making the case for "IT'S A GODDAM WORLDWIDE VIRUS AND NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO, IT'S GOING TO SPREAD!"

How many cases result in hospitalizations and deaths?

Just saying “cases” should not be allowed anymore. It’s not enough information

No, there is science. Full stop.

Right now, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and a bunch of other countries are doing quite well.

The EU countries had some problems with segments of their populations throwing temper tantrums and refusing to follow instructions.

At lease most them got it down to levels the US was never able to. We are spiking cases way too early, and six digit numbers will come with in a month (ETA), unless we do something significant.

The first part of the year looks like it was the warm-up, now the pandemic will get to shine. Plenty of areas are going into overflow facilities for their hospitals, transferring patients hundreds of miles away, etc.

This really has been one of America's worst performances.

I was told constantly that Europe was doing everything right. They they had even “defeated” the virus

Now suddenly they are a bunch of non complaint people just like the dirty Americans?

Amazing how stories quickly change

And hilarious how we are still at the “wait 2 weeks!” Stage

I can prove it. Because no liberal would ever enter a large room knowing one person is infected in that room. That shows how confident their dollar store mask is in not catching Covid, Lol. Even with an N95 and 12’ apart they wouldn’t go in that room.
Many feel the need to carry a gun while walking down the street to protect themselves in an off-chance that you encounter a life-threatening situation out in public. Would you walk into a room with someone in it that you knew was armed and trying to kill you? Or would you just avoid that room entirely? I think in any scenario like this, you'd be an idiot to walk headfirst into a situation where the threat was guaranteed. The whole point of a mask is to reduce the risk when you can't be sure how, or where it's going to present itself, like wearing a helmet on a motorcycle.

Europe had achieved very low rates of Covid-19 infection. Then they relaxed their restrictions, and the virus came roaring back. We have seen the same thing happen in various US states. What is the lesson to be learned here?

Haven't you guys learn anything from the first wave? Europe is 3-4 weeks ahead of us. Why did you guys think the stock market nose dived?? Why did you hear Fauci warning everyone to be careful? Reality just flew right over the right-wing's head, didn't it?

Right-wingers, listen up, we are NEXT.

Forget about making Trump looks good and start bracing for the impact, it's coming.

Holly molly, sometimes the ignorance from the right is just too much.

.

Covid does not discriminate, right vs left. The Dakotas are learning this the hard way.

I am an independent. I made up my mind which candidate to vote against in the voting booth in 2016. I held my nose and voted Trump. I am likely the furthest thing from his or any politician’s best.

I don’t support Trump or Biden and will once again decide in the voting booth.

As it relates to Covid, Trump is a loser. His reaction and messaging have been beyond atrocious. How does the WH publish a press release touting vague scientific accomplishments and then claim it ended the Covid Pandemic, when it is surging, once again? The same press release quoted esteemed scientist Ivanka Trump, of all people. What is hell is wrong with these people?

Congress threw serious $ billions at pharmaceutical companies to expedite development and trials of treatments and a vaccine. Same would have happened under any POTUS.

Not likely the masses will bust down the doors to be vaccinated, no matter their politics. Then there was that embarrassing WH communique about WH Santas being essential employees and among the first to be vaccinated. Teachers not so much.

I am saddened by our limited choices, Trump vs Biden, for very different reasons.

My crystal ball continues to show a Trump win, very possibly due to mail in ballots - the irony.

enough to wear hospitals in my city are bursting at the seams, and they've locked down certain neighborhoods until the capacities in hospitals open up.

edit: here's a recent news article about the situation in Spain.. you can stick it in google translate. ICUs in 8 autonomous communities in extreme risk of more than 25% of patients having Covid-19

Want to talk about New Zealand? South Korea? What no? It doesn't fit your low bar narrative? Our country is an embarrassment and pariah because of this botched response. We should be leading the pack and be as the same caliber as Taiwan, not some third world country. Oh wait a minute. Even a s hole country like Africa has a lower death toll than America.

Ignoring a pandemic in favor of spin and lies has cost us greatly. That's the bottom line. We should be like Taiwan. That's also the bottom line. We have the best minds in the world here, yet, they are muzzled and politicized. Our CDC is a joke now. Why do you think that is?
Do you really think those countries have the testing madness and generosity when it comes to counting what COVID deaths are as the US? You realize those countries are nothing like the Us cultural wise?
