It has to be slowed down so it doesn't break the capacity of hospitals

and it hospital ICUs get packed with COVID patients that means less space for other trauma victims

I can't stand to watch him doing press announcements. How many times did he mention "Back in March and April"?

Perhaps my meaning was insufficiently blunt.

There may come a time, when a triage-type of approach becomes necessary. Persons afflicted with Covid would be denied medical treatment, so that hospital capacity could be reserved for "normal" patients. Severe complications of Covid would become a literal death sentence, and the mortality statistics would rise. A lot.

We have to be prepared for that.

How are you supposed to enjoy freedom in Florida while confined to an ICU bed?

Oklahoma, too. The governor still refuses to instate a statewide mask mandate.

Don’t worry. You can wear a mask right now and for the rest of your life if you want. You don’t need the government’s permission.

At least those red states are not crashing with a high amount of permanent job losses and permanent business closures.

I wouldn't use the word "wise". The only wise solution is if one has a cure and can eliminate the virus.

I would say that it may be the practical approach. A hybrid between taking precaution but allowing for daily life activities to continue

I don't think he meant by herd-immunity, that everyone should just start licking doorknobs to purposely get COVID
