Sure, not good. But then Trump spent most of the year lying about it, getting people to avoid quarantine, and trying to cover up his mismanagement. How is that any better?
When trump held dozens of super-spreader events and rallies in the US, I don't think we can blame the Chinese any longer for the critical COVID spread in the US.
The titles pretty much says it all. This virus from China that either came from a lab or one of their backwards wet markets has destroyed many lives and cost governments and taxpayers around the world trillions. In a way, they declared war on the world with their virus. With all the loved ones they killed prematurely, the risk they put us all in, they owe the world a great debt! What should the world demand of them going forward? Oversight of t heir labs? Stopping all wet markets? Forgiveness of debt and years of restitution payments? All of the above?
it has not be proven that COVID came from either a biolab or a wet market.
if you have definitive evidence to prove this, please provide it. otherwise, this is the same tactic trump is using to assert that the election was fraudulent.
What can really be done? We could stop buying stuff from them and instead buy American made products. That wold hurt their bottom line. Of course Trump tried to increase the tariffs on Chinese goods to level the trade deals and the Dems told us he was trying to start a trade war. Well we now have Beijing Biden poised to take over so there is no way he is going to hold China responsible for anything including the pollution they pump out that is killing the planet. Why is America facing a climate catastrophe but China is allowed to continue on with their HUGE carbon footprint? Maybe Hunter Biden can get in there and solve the problems as long as "the big guy" gets his cut of millions.

Here's the funny thing... Conservative America is doing exactly what they accused China of doing regarding Covid...
China lied about Covid being real? China lied about the number of deaths from Covid? China didn't do enough to prevent the spread of Covid and let it spread?
That's literally everything Conservatives have been selling for the last 6 months.
If Conservatives were in China's position in Q4 2019, there wouldn't be an iota difference in what they would've done.
I don’t buy into the theory the spread of Covid by the Chinese Government was intentional. With 1.4 billion people, China will be the world’s largest consumer of stuff.
China was able to get the virus under control faster and better than the rest of the world because it put Wuhan and surrounding cities on a strict 3+ month lockdown. Unlike the US where people are inclined to describe the inability to grab a beer at a bar as a lockdown, China was serious. No one allowed to leave their residences without permission. All public and private transportation shut down. No flights or trains out.
Most outbound flights from China had been cancelled by the time Trump announced restrictions on travel from China. These restrictions did not include legal US residents, students or those visiting family members.
We all watched what was happening in Italy and other hot spots in Europe and collectively assumed it could not happen here. Millions of people flew from hot spots in Europe for months before the US restricted entry, with exceptions, of course.
Trump knowingly down played the seriousness of the virus from the start and rationalized his choice to do so as optimism as if that would magically make it go away. Had it not been an election year, Trump might have chosen a different strategy. We’ll never know. Nonetheless, Covid was politicized.
And it has and continues to spread.
As an aside, Trump’s favorite news outlet, OAN, did a special report on Covid where it was traced to a lab in North Carolina based on a report from a citizen investigator, aka, guy with social media account.
Trump never stopped everyone coming from China from entering the US.
Legal US residents have been allowed to return.
Students were admitted.
Families visiting legal US residents have been allowed to do so.
About 500,000 did so between February- mid April.
Millions freely traveled to/ from hot spots in Europe before inbound arrivals were restricted which is not the same thing as eliminated.
Arrivals are expected to self -quarantine. No one monitors.
In the meantime, tens of millions of US people have chosen to dismiss the risk of Covid and ignored public health recommendations. And it spreads.
Back in August, Drs Birx and Fauci were given airtime to communicate the status of Covid. Both were clear, there was evidence of a renewed surge. Trump stood there and diminished the ipurgency.
Then Trump got sick and unlike the masses, was hospitalized out of an abundance of caution. His vitals and oxygen levels were monitored by an army of doctors. He recieved a treatment unavailable to the masses. And once discharged, he had the audacity to tell the public not to worry about Covid.
Trump did not create Covid or the global pandemic. His reaction in an election year made a tough situation worse.

the flights out of china that day were crew and US citizens returning home.
there was no protocol established at that time to quarantine passengers, or even a temperature check.
trump is the one that "downplayed" the virus and flat out lied to the US public. no need to panic everyone.

Apparently all of the protests, rioting and hell raising in Portland, Seattle, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York and other American cities had no influence on the increase of COVID 19 infections in those cities. Isn't that convenient for the American leftist agenda?
