I just spoke to a friend who is an infectious disease specializing in virology. He is a PharmD who has worked with several several administrations starting with AIDS then Ebola, MERS and SARS. He strongly believes that these vaccines are safe (there are always allergic reactions to any med or vaccine. These reactions are very rare and also very manageable)

I will be as close to the front of the line as I can get with MrsM and her 97 year old mother. I have been involved with Public Health for years and weighing the balance of pros and cons of COVID vs vaccine. Getting the vaccine is a no brainier!

What we do not know is how long immunity lasts. So, masks and hand washing will be our new normal for a while. How long is a while, no one knows
If you thought getting people to wear masks was difficult before a vaccine, just wait until they’ve had it. Masks are gone.

Besides, the high lord Fauci already said he expects normal by next year.

I don't get it.
This thread isnt really about that, but we may see more of this if it passes

Outrageous but fully expected.

No one capitalizes on a "problem" like government. It's the only thing its efficient at really.

Amazing how much they are trying to get people to drop their skepticism against a hastily rushed vaccine that's using a new and totally experimental method called mRNA...

Someone posted something they read in an article regarding the vaccine and a medical recommendation from him.

I was like "who is this guy writing this". Turns out he's nothing more than a journalist.

They didn't say the vaccine was 100% effective did they? They will want to know the efficacy among the general population, so relatively accurate reporting is still important.

People are either going to believe what they see passed to them on social media or trust the experts in the system. There is very little we can do to convince the people that their faith in conspiracies isn't real. They will only allow facts filtered in the way they believe in. We see this sort of thing a lot now...

Lol isn’t this the same argument many people have been making about covid deaths... that a bunch of these people would have died anyways???

So, now the shoe is on the other foot...

Ahem, in my best democrat tone of voice:

“YOU LUNATICS WANT TO VACCINATE GRANDMA AND GRANDPA??? HOW COULD YOU DO THIS?? WHY DONT YOU EVIL PEOPLE CARE IF THEY DIE????”

But you have many media journalists taking on the role of "experts" and they are clearly NOT.
