Why so FEW deaths?
This is a horrific pandemic of epic proportions. Why has less than 1% of the population succumbed to this horrible virus raging through this completely open, no restrictions state with the nation's most vulnerable population?
I've brought up Florida so many times and so many threads.
And the most prolific and vocal and ... NASTY ... posters cannot explain why Florida has such low numbers when taking int account it's bee n OPEN for a YEAR.
They literally ignore it.
Because it does not fit into the line of thinking that the majority of the US is going to die of COVID. That a pandemic affects how many? What percent is considered a pandemic?
They have their story and are sticking to it. They won't look at numbers that don't fit. Blinders on. Fingers in ears.

Anyone on this site, or paying attention elsewhere, have most likely been expecting it, but wow in the past few months the Anti-vaxxers have gone into overdrive. "COVID vaccines will change our DNA, implant microchips or sterilize us all", they say. "COVID is caused by 5G radiation, biological warfare or aliens. It’s a ‘plandemic’ led by Bill Gates, big pharma and the WHO (World Health Organization). Or maybe it’s all just an elaborate hoax."
C'mon folks, there are consequences to this. This nonsense and this concerted campaign is costing lives. Yes, misinformation costs lives. Without the appropriate trust and correct information, diagnostic tests go unused, immunization efforts will not meet their targets, and the virus will continue to thrive.
It is time to stop pretending the organized operation of disinformation, that we are seeing on this thread--by the usual suspects--- is genuine curiosity and concern by people trying to learn more and educate themselves. This is not mere hesitancy we are witnessing. This is sabotage and deceit with cruelty and disease and death as the only outcome. The truly hesitant searching for help and truthful information and scientific evidence need to be inoculated against the anti-vaxxers.
We need to act quickly and firmly against these narratives, and people need to know the truth: The evidence is overwhelming that the COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective and are working to curb spread, infections, hospitalizations and death. They are our way out of this pandemic.

IMO, it's way past time to stop providing oxygen by way of serious debate with the dishonest, deceptive, & disingenuous actors of this ugly anti-science & anti-vaccination & anti-public health operation.

In the new study, the researchers created a “pseudovirus” that was surrounded by SARS-CoV-2 classic crown of spike proteins, but did not contain any actual virus. Exposure to this pseudovirus resulted in damage to the lungs and arteries of an animal model—proving that the spike protein alone was enough to cause disease. Tissue samples showed inflammation in endothelial cells lining the pulmonary artery walls.
The team then replicated this process in the lab, exposing healthy endothelial cells (which line arteries) to the spike protein. They showed that the spike protein damaged the cells by binding ACE2. This binding disrupted ACE2’s molecular signaling to mitochondria (organelles that generate energy for cells), causing the mitochondria to become damaged and fragmented.
