This article says the average age of COVID death is 82.4.

This article says average life span in the US is 78.54

So, according to those links, the average person who dies of COVID has actually significantly OUTLIVED their life expectancy in the US.

I say this, although I'm a masker and a distancer. And one who looks truth boldly in the face.

Orlando is in a world of hurt right now, despite the theme parks being open for business, since March. The masses have not returned.

Orlando is in second place for destination trade shows and conventions in the US. Despite the lack of restrictions, the shows/ conventions are not booking.

Thousands of investor- owned units in resort properties are not being booked albeit, these units seem preferable to hotels.

Aged motels along Fl hwy 192 have long been home for low wage service workers in the greater Orlando/ Kissimmee area. School buses routinely pickup/ drop off school aged children who share 200 sq ft rooms with their siblings and families. The massive layoffs in the area meant weekly rents were not being paid.

The prior stimulus and unemployment topper did not necessarily mean funds were used to make a dent in back rent.

Owners increasingly abandoned these properties and squatters took over. Power was cut due to unpaid bills. Gangs took control of some properties.

Some relocate north to the Ocala Forests where the homeless populations and associated issues rival those of LA, albeit not quite as visible.

How about this. The USA learns to mind its own business and stop our government from imposing its will on foreign countries? Just a thought. If we don't like the Fed doing it to us then why are we so hung ho about doing it to others. 730 billion a year on a military that protects everyone but us.

The hardships the average American faces are a joke compared to what most endure and often because of us. I dont blame our military and those who serve. I blame the civilian scum in congress who feel that we need to force our will upon others.

Using our military to create perceived world stability is why the greenback is king, a policy we learned from the British.
If it wasn't the U.S., it would be some other country running the scam; like China.

Hence the problem here, the pandemic has been used to remove more freedoms; which are never reinstated.
The problem with masks are they eliminate non-verbal communication; which is a requirement to communicate/socialize effectively.

The CDC with its billions a year budget completely choked. If people look to politicians for medical advice then they absolutely deserve their fate. Why didn't they simply listen to the medical professionals?
Restricting travel from China is not the same as not permitting anyone from entering the US. Returning legal residents, visiting family members, students, etc were all allowed to enter. No one bothered to track them.

Millions entered the US from hot spots in Europe before travel was restricted. No one bothered to track them.

I have neighbors who recently received permission to enter a current hot zone country due the the birth of a grandchild. Upon their return home, they were told to quarantine for 2 weeks. Did they? I don’t know. I do know the adult children who reside with them, did not.

Contrast this to Wuhan which enforced a serious lock down. No one allowed in/ out. Needed permission to shop for food or see a doctor. Today, life for the 11 million who live in the highly dense city is back to normal. For now, the former draconian measures and compliance have worked.

There are about 12 known strains of Covid. The South African strain is more contagious than the source strain. The EU has cut off the UK. Nonetheless, it has spread. The US has not cut off travel.

Ca also ran concentration camps for the Japanese during WWII, so your thought process does fit right into the state's history.

Many European nations are seeing record case counts as well-in spite of draconian lockdowns.
People tend to use absolute numbers and per capita rates interchangeably. California has a population of 40 million. While the number of infections is high, on a per capita basis it’s far from being one of the most infected states.

ND and SD are believed to have been the sources for soaring infection rates and hospitalizations in the upper Midwest. Neither ND or SD imposed restrictions. At one point, ND has the highest per capita infection rate in the world, despite not being particularly focused on testing.

As of last week, ND and SD continue to have the highest infection rates.

It really sucks! I've had enough of it, too, but the alternative can be a much worse reality. More patience necessary...when most of us don't have much left.

W/ regards to the vaccines, I think it'll be a slow roll out. And, ethical concerns, LTC patients getting the most effective vs the rest of the people getting, possibly, the less effective ones? Messy situations to think about.

It’s always been about avoiding overwhelming hospitals and frontline healthcare professionals.

Despite the noise, most who are admitted for Covid related complications, do not end up in the ICU. They receive treatment/ therapies independent of the ICU. As the demand for Covid beds increases, the number of hospital real estate that becomes quarantined increases. When this happens, the number of beds available for non- Covid related admissions is substantially reduced.

States license # beds. There is a diff between # licensed beds and # physical beds and # of healthcare professionals to tend to those beds.

ND, previously let it rip, found themselves without the necessary # beds and healthcare professionals. Air lifting masses of people to other states was no longer an option. The state received an assist from the Air Force in terms of healthcare resources.
