When you pay attention you realize Trump is a billionaire who dodged taxes for years, and also used the government to increase his wealth while in office giving up the presidential salary is nothing and who cares about his empty gesture.
Exactly that, empty. Giving up his salary is lost in all the chaos of his term in office, so it means absolutely nothing.

Not only did he con all those people out of $200 million, push his golf and hotels onto the govt. in violation of the law, he spent millions on secret service protection that had to extend from 5th Ave because Melania didn't want to move, to Washington, to Florida. What a waste of taxpayer dollars on this guy. On top of this, he wants the "royal" sendoff with red carpet and hail to the chief on Wednesday. Sickening.

But I’m an anti-Biden guy but this whole “trump gave up his salary” thing is total bs. 400k vs the millions paid to transport and protect him at maralago or whatever. It’s a crappy argument and if creepy pedo joe takes the 400k and gives it to his crackhead son is no worse than status quo to me.
Trump steers a lot of government business to his Trump hotels and golf resorts, more than $400k a year.
It was just a smoke screen. Donald tried to entice Romney to join his administration by telling him how much money he could make for his business. This was an opportunity for Donald to cash in. Sadly it looks like it will cost him bigly, he should have kept the money.

Yep, Trump didn't divest himself from Trump International. Why else did we have that stupid story of the Air Force stopping at that Scotland Trump hotel for "re-fueling" that we didn't need. What about all the use of Mar-A-Lago, do you really think Trump comped the Secret Service rooms?
