Then why doesn't every country in the world have an open-borders policy? Or even a policy that is similar to our nonsense?

No one has the right to hire illegal aliens no matter how hard they "seem" to work. They have reduced wages by working for less. They all need to be deported and wages will rise for hard working Americans.

Because you still need a system to filter out criminals, etc.

Because a lot of countries have enough xenophobes to make it politically easier to have immigration restrictions of varying degrees. It has nothing to do with economics.

No, it's because your ideas are f#$ckin' stupid. You want more Democrat voters, and that's all that it's about.

What ideas of mine do you think are "stupid?" And what, precisely, is "stupid" about them?

So that increase in fed minimum wage seems like a win until those folks see the cost of groceries, clothing, booze, rent, etc., also increase ...and then they are back to where they started from.
Same happens when the government imposes tariffs on imported goods.

We have unlimited visas for legal, foreign workers to do farm work and illegal aliens aren't "immigrants"! Only 2% of illegals are working on farms while the rest took once good paying jobs from Americans such as construction work. No problem hiring legal immigrants but hiring illegal aliens is against the law. If a company can't survive unless they break the law then they need to go out of business. There aren't any jobs that Americans won't do for a fair wage. Who do you think were doing them before millions of cheap illegals flooded our border? I don't recall businesses failing all over the country before that when they used American workers. Know WTH you are talking about before you spout nonsense! Illegal aliens cost over $100 billion a year they are no bargain for most Americans.

Just letting anyone who isn't a violent criminal become a citizen of your country is stupid. The rest of the world knows this. That's why they don't have that policy.
