Seems the doctor was a little disingenuous about his earnings.
Actor Matthew McConaughey interviewed Dr. Anthony Fauci on Instagram on Aug. 13 [2020] and asked the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases about matters related to the current epidemic.
McConaughey: “Do you have money invested in a vaccine?”
Fauci: “Zero! I am a government worker and I have a government salary.”

Fauci is 80 years old. He's in good shape for 80! But aren't there any people under geriatric age who can lead this country? Two past presidents who are generally highly rated are JFK and Teddy Roosevelt. Teddy was just under 43 yo when he became president and JFK was approx 43 yo when elected. Biden is the oldest person to become president. Fauci is 80 yo.
I agree. I am constantly baffled by the God crown bestowed on Fauci’s head. It was his job to convince Trump that the virus was going to be a crisis of unprecedented proportion, which anyone with some level of epidemiology expertise seeing some of the video coming out of China as early as January had reason to fear, instead he told everyone the flu was a greater threat and to go about their lives. He even went so far as to tell people to keep going on cruises after the Diamond Princess turned into a sailing infection Petri dish. And, oh, the whole mask crapola. I just don’t understand why he isn’t universally trashed, let alone why he is worshipped. He was supposed to be the expert.

Before March 2020 they were telling the world in their online MD Journal that the virus would especially hit very hard in congregate group settings of old people. i.e. Rest homes. Fauchi et al did zero to prepare rest/nursing homes for the coming wave of strong flu-like symptoms and disease. Nothing. But hey, they sure had those healthy young first responder Union members all protected and tested early on, while the old folks were dying in rest/nursing homes. He is not a dictator. If he had been there would have been a much more medically conservative management of the country. But we are certainly not China, and that sort of control of course would not be swallowed by at least half our people here.

I think it's a legitimate question -- not "age bigotry" -- whether American society right now might be far too keen on cheering governmental officials on for keeping their jobs, regardless of competence/results, for as long as they can. From where I'm sitting, it looks like we have a plethora of incredibly old public officials AND a government that doesn't really work for us.
Fauci can be Exhibit A for this view even if you don't ascribe any gross incompetence, malfeasance, or conflict of interest to him. I think we might be overrating longevity/legacy and it might have very real costs for us.

I have always been critical of Fauci, since way back. His age is NOT the problem. If he were black, would you say his mistakes were caused by his being black?
