Who in the federal gov't in your opinion should be paid more?
And who would you nominate to replace Fauci?

There should be a number of Fauci's and they should all be employed in the private sector. The fed govt has no authority in which to weigh in on health matters.

To q1: Well for starters, how about Dr. Collins, who is the director of the National Institutes of Health? Why is Fauci, who is the director of one of the institutes, earning more than the director of the entire NIH?

To q2: As to who should replace Fauci, I don’t know enough infectious disease doctors to put forth a name. But someone apolitical would be preferable.

Here’s the CV on Dr. Collins.

I find this trend that the Pro-Trump, anti-fact folks lately seem to be afraid of facts. I say that ONLY because every time someone says something that does not align with the party line, they are accused of fear mongering. To me, that implies one of two things:
1. You are afraid (hence the mongered fear), or
2. You are lying, you're not really afraid, just trying to discredit facts for your own agenda.

Honestly, the group that only a couple years ago called everyone snowflakes are now the one who are afraid of everything. Afraid of COVID, afraid of Foreigners, Afraid of Liberals, blah blah blah.

It honestly does not make sense to me, because I really would like to believe you are not lying to push an agenda, so that only leaves the possibility that you are truly in fear. (Your words, not mine)

Here's my advice: Learn some real facts, find out what you can do to take responsibility for your own safety, and for those around you. Understand it. Understand the risks. Understand what freedoms you have and exercise them. If you do all that, the fear will subside. Fear is almost always based in ignorance. (Again, I know "ignorance" has a bad connotation, but in this context, it only means "not aware of all the facts".)

If you would just look around you, you'd see that Faucci, Biden, and most of the thinking world (R & D) are just trying to get people to do things that will make them safer AND open up the economy, your jobs, and things to do. Why do you constantly fight it?

It would greatly please me if, instead of just getting defensive and hurling insults, you actually answered the question. Why are you afraid, and why do you not want to open up the economy? Why are you not, as a Patriot, willing to make the smallest sacrifice to make others safe, and allow them to get back to making a living?

Yes. There should have been a panel. No single unelected official should have such much influence over public policy.

How about people such as these, honored as being the top infectious disease specialists in the country?

Wow. And were you the one who said that *I* changed?

I’m not going to comment further.

Excellent!

I think it is as simple as Fauci having been around longer, so he has accumulated more centrally set pay raises. He might be the longest employed of all.

Of course there are panels. But someone has to represent the whole.
