The game of military patty cake has begun.

Now we can respond with a minor attack and allow things to escalate.

The Defense Industry loves the return to normalcy as their pockets will once again be full of defense contract money which I will be paying them.

Rockets hit Iraq's Ain al-Asad air base hosting US troops

Numerous rockets were reported to have hit the Ain al-Asad air base on Wednesday, with no casualties reported initially.

US and Iraqi forces are housed at the base in the western Anbar province, as well as troops from other members of the Operation Inherent Resolve coalition against the "Islamic State" (IS) group.

...
About 13 rockets were launched from a location some 8 kilometers (5 miles) from the base, a Baghdad Operations Command official told the Reuters news agency.

The rocket attack was the second in Iraq this month, coming two days before Pope Francis is due to visit the country.

What do you mean by return to normalcy?

The "normalcy" of the US having its nose stuck into places it doesn't belong, and the "normalcy" of having our soldiers coming home in body bags, and the "normalcy" of having US citizens targeted by foreign terrorists because our government doesn't give a damn how many or who gets killed as long as they can play world swordsman.

I didn't ask for a definition of normalcy.

Let me be more clear: "return to normalcy" = "US getting involved in one or more unnecessary wars"

Highly agree with you. Was just talking about this to my wife this morning. We're dumbstruck on the idea of our military going to other countries in the middle east and trying to maintain "order". Yet it's the same as being terrorists in their countries. And on the same hand with the military being ordered out, with their guns, the democrats wants to take away our guns.

I thought I was pretty clear with the sentence I used. Wartime scenarios are created/facilitated so that defense contractors get government contracts and enrich themselves. Normalcy.

Trump didn't do that. He fought to make them impotent using weaponry and sanctions. We didn't see much military action near the end of his term. Troops were coming home. We did see peace deals sprouting up. That's not normal. Peace is not profit.

Trump ran on increasing defense spending (after the tea party jammed in the sequester under Obama), increased defense spending while in office, threatened to nuke countries over twitter, and dropped substantial ordinance in Syria. Trump pulled out of the Iran nuclear deal (like it or not) and assassinated one of Iran's top military figures. That was not peace.

You're going to have to come up with a lot more than that for a "whataboutism" once we get into yet another war or two under the dem's watch.

I mean, we've only been there long enough for the sons of soldiers to be sent there after their dads were,

the Iraqi people voted to kick us out after 2 decades.
