I don't know about you, but I don't recall anyone running this past me to get my approval before they came out with those shoes.
And I have no plans to buy the shoes, or support in any way the critter that launched them- never even heard of him and have no intention of finding out.
So exactly how is it that "we" let this bu!!sheeyut happen?
He's a 1 hit wonder desperate for another hit, so he made a music video giving Satan a lap dance, customized Nike Satan sneakers, and has embraced homosexual Satanism despite the fact blacks are the most religious demographic in America and there's plenty of gothic hip hop already available.
So, I think you nailed it here. He is like Billy Ray Cyrus after Achy Breaky Heart. What to do next? The thing is that in this day of outrageous behavior by so many, one has to be ever more outrageous to get attention.
To be fair to him, he isn't a one-hit wonder. He has a hit with a billion views. But his other songs, Panini (Which is about the childhood cartoon Chowder), Holiday and Rodeo are all hits in their own right. He's no Drake, but calling him a one-hit-wonder is a bit of a stretch now. His main issue is that his hit was a genre fusion, and outside of pop with heavy influences from other genres, he didn't have too much of a distinctive style.
It's designed to push fundamentalist Christians' buttons and that it's done. I still don't see it as any different than what Madonna did back in the 80s, though she was more artful. The church wedding itself to the Republican Party and it's never-ending crusade to impose itself on a majority than no longer wants to be a part of it means a backlash is brewing.
Come on dude, it's not just metal. there is satan worshiping in all music genres and you can't say one has more than any other because there's a lot of weird stuff under the surface. It is quite prevalent in the entertainment industry in general.
This is generally BS and you know it is.
There is no Satan worshipping in all genres which include gospel.
It’s definitely one of those things that started bottom up. Black urbanites especially in places like Skater culture of NYC, helped develop much of the culture but it isn’t ghetto. Even the race for shoes like Jordan’s is largely white in America and Hypebeast culture is massive among Hipster-like teens among all continents.
I love it when they try to use their weak ass air Jordan references.
Y'all realize that you are giving Lil' Nas X 15 more minutes of fame after his 30 off of "Hometown Road" right? You are playing into his hands with outrage culture. Proves that cancel culture exists on the right...
