But the free stuff for staying off work is drying up in half of the states. Maybe that explains why my visit for Sunday dinner at DaVinci's, an Italian restaurant went well. The food was good. There didn't appear to be a shortage of workers. The waiters were promptly attentive and acted like they knew what they were doing.
Sounds like you have a lot of experience working for $7.25/hr. Entry level paying jobs are meant for entry level workers like kids, students, folks looking for part-time work, etc..., not folks looking to earn a living at them or raise families....but who’s working for $7.25/hr anymore?
People who keep talking about "entry level jobs" don't seem to realize that since the 80s the US has been transformed from a production economy to a service economy...and services are largely low-wage employment. Those are not just "entry level" jobs anymore; they are what the employment picture of the United States is.
That was done deliberately. I recall in the 80s financial pundits like Lou Dobbs made a big deal about the intention to move the US away from production to information and services.
The low skilled and lazy are sitting at home on their PED's surfing corporate media (govt) fear porn, daytrading, and virtue signalling on social media, while ordering up breakfast, lunch and dinner from a chain eatery (a.k.a. crony business) to be delivered by door dash.
The rest of us are just tax donkeys yoked up and working to pay for it all.
