Want to destroy your community? Get a democrat mayor and city council.
Detroit, NYC, Chicago, Minneapolis, Baltimore, L.A., St Louis, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle — all of these cities have been run totally by democrats for decades and look what they’ve become....

I’m continually shocked at democrat friends and relatives of ours who are “educated” and have no idea what is really going on in this country......

Of course — it’s now a GIANT magnet city for every radical SJW, BLM race pimp, and liberal anarchist misfit in the country.
I imagine same influx is happening to Portland and Seattle.

The left allows crimes to happen then whines when there are no "JOB OPPORTUNITIES" available.

The decent people, white AND black move out and the slime moves in and the neighborhoods go to hell.

The armed car jackings and nightly street races are completely out of control.

The number of police officers was 817 and now has dropped to 638. This is what it means to reimagine policing. We just imagine that we have a police force. This was before the Chauvin verdict, the Kim Potter incident, and before it was announced that there would be a federal investigation of the MPD. I imagine those numbers will not improve a whole lot in the upcoming months despite efforts to recruit more officers. You have to wonder about the quality of recruits that MPD will be able to attract at this point.

I can't wait until the Democrats start reimagining other things, can't you?
"Minneapolis is a city with a Democratic mayor and a Democratic city council without a single Republican on it: Twelve of the 13 city-council members are Democrats, one is a Green. It has a progressive chief of police who was preceded by another progressive chief of police. It is in a state with a Democratic governor and a Democratic state house. Every statewide executive office in Minnesota is either held by a Democrat or is officially nonpartisan — there is not one Republican as such holding a statewide office in Minnesota. The people of Minneapolis are represented in the U.S. House by, among others, Ilhan Omar and Dean Phillips, both Democrats, and in the Senate by Amy Klobuchar and Tina Smith, both Democrats."

Yes, I found that map soon after I moved into the city and upon first glance I gotta say it freaked me out. Once I understood it better I was able to put things into perspective. So let me point out a few things about the Shots Fired map.

1) It doesn’t necessarily equate to actual shots fired. It represents people calling the police to report a gun shot. This could be someone mistaking a loud sound caused by a firecracker, a car engine misfiring, a car tire blowing up on the highway, etc. This type of thing happens often.
2) A single incident may be represented by multiple icons (AKA, a “shot” is heard and called in by 6 different neighbors)
3) If you look carefully at the map, 80% or so of the activity is concentrated in the northwest quadrant of the city. That, folks, is North Minneapolis. That is the one area of the city which has had legitimate crime and safety issues going back as far as I can remember. It is fair to say that there are some gun shots happening there at a semi-regular clip. Other parts of the city, not really an ongoing issue.

The 5th congressional district covers all of Minneapolis. As much as I like Dean Phillips, he represents the inner western suburbs and not Minneapolis proper.
