If the other players have a first amendment right to protest, then she has a first amendment right NOT to protest. VT is a public school so the Constitution is the law of the land.
She quit the team and now wants to be reinstated...with the same coach?
Oh dear -- did she over react when she walked out.
I wonder what the other person that didn't kneel thinks.
Pretty sure that was all covered in the article.
The coach attacked her because she wouldn't take a knee to protest America, harassed and berated her and finally benched a player that appears to be a rising star.
If she chooses to come back, it is her right.
She should have never been mistreated in the first place.
Why do leftists always feel so inclined to attack the victim?

But was the other player mistreated or felt she was mistreated?
And why would you want to go back to the team if you were so badly mistreated the first time.
I would have thought that she should have addressed the issue while still on the team.
This seems like a rather complicated, dramatic, not well thought out way of doing things.
Has nothing to do with left or right.
Do you assess every life situation as left vs. right?

Hmm. When something seems absolutely unbelievable, check another source.
This story isn't being covered by mainstream media, so I had to go to this rag source, but apparently it's better than the pundit at showing the truth.
Apparently she had been very vocal during the season disagreeing with her teammates about political stances.
This article states "several of her teammates" took a knee - implying that several DID NOT.
Sounds like she's a good player, but what a truly successful team needs is a UNITED group, not one torn asunder by one of the best players causing political arguments with the others.
I hope she ends up having to foot the bill for this frivolous lawsuit. Next time, when things are going good and you're successful, don't ruin it by being impossible to get along with.

Others apparently also didn't kneel, and they weren't berated. Sounds like she's a bit clueless about why the coach was angry with her.
