Trump was the President at the time, if John wanted a public funeral paid by the taxpayers and lowering the flags at half mast then a President attending it comes with the territory but Cindy didn't have a problem with Democrats who attacked him hardcore in 2008 when he ran against Barry to attend the funeral.

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) is favored more by Democratic voters in Arizona than he is with Republican voters in his home state, according to a new CBS News poll.
Of those surveyed, 62 percent of Democrats said they had favorable views of McCain, while 17 percent said they held unfavorable views.
This was a stark contrast to Republican voters, who only 20 percent said they had favorable views of the longtime senator, while 68 percent said they viewed him unfavorably.
