Its a pity that people don't understand supply & demand plus world markets it would really explain why a commodity fluctuates in price. Of course if your drinking Kool-Aid all day and believe that Fearless Leader is the reason that things were so good in your past memory than the realities of the real world will have no bearing.
On another note maybe the pipeline shut down and a desire to take advantage by raising the pricces has something to do with it..
For the current problem, we can thank the GOP. We have known for years infrastructure security was an issue, but Trump failed to address it even after major cyber attacks during his administration. We know the entire energy grid and infrastructure is at risk and its owned by the private sector, thus it requires a public / private partnership.
Expecting Biden to fix it in a few months shows that even Trump supporters expect more of Biden than Trump.

When the Electronics go down the price of pad and paper should go up.
That's only if today's generation still knows how to add numbers in their heads...............
Couldn’t you find a place where gas was free during the Trump administration?
We all know that gas is not 89 cents a gallon except in your geographic bubble. And maybe Kuwait.
Got down to about $1.49 near me and stayed there for a long time.
Close enough.
And there are some things that a President and their administration can do that can effect gas prices.
If an administration is seen as being openly hostile towards the petroleum industry, that alone can make speculation creep upwards.
Remember when Biden told us he wanted to shut down pipelines and oil and gas?
One more step to convince you that Progressives Green Deal is what is best. Get your order in soon for that new Chinese Electric car for less than $9000.
They should be on Amazon soon. One note, it is disposable once the 2 year battery dies. You'll need another soon.

Remember Trumps primary concern was securing exclusive patents for himself and his daughter from China that electric car you want may very well be from Trump Inc...
To be fair the main gas pipeline being shut down due to a ransomware cyberattack is beyond any president's control.
Geez some people see politics in everything. The O.P. Blaming Biden and the second poster blaming Trump.....
But we don't live in the world of fair anymore. Trump was blamed when a fly landed on a reporter's arm. Guess what, Biden is in charge now and he takes the blame as he should. He is the man in charge now. He could so something about it but he isn't.

This exactly.
Why we put things like pipeline control on internet accessible computers, I have no idea.
This seems like such a no brainer....
It's like we're just daring someone to mess with it.
