Funny that you mention that... this reminds of Soviet policy. In the good old days, childless adults of reproductive age were charged a surtax, or "Childlessness Fee". Perhaps modern America is moving in that direction?

Now there's an idea! Pay people a reward for vasectomy/tubal ligation. Pay an extra reward to those who did so, prior to having any children.
If the government is going to mandate that every pregnancy be carried to term (as the Supreme Court may do in the fall) it certainly makes sense for the government to support the children women are legally obligated to bear.

Nah, they deserve nothing. Nobody’s responsible for their self inflicted problems. Folks that don’t want kids simply need to pay more attention in health class and/or learn how babies are made and prevent pregnancy from happening.

Tens of millions of households will receive up to $250 a month per child between age 6 and 17 and up to $300 per child under age 6, based on their ages at the end of 2021. The payments will be made on the 15th of every month, unless that date falls on a holiday or weekend, the Treasury Department said Monday.
The credit isn’t just larger. Congress made two other changes that effectively convert the credit into a near-universal child allowance. First, it made the credit fully refundable, which means that the entire amount can go to households that don’t make enough money to pay income taxes. Your conclusion does not follow from your premise. Anyone who creates a pregnancy should be compelled to support that baby until it can support itself. It is called PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY. Anyone who follows the science knows abortion is murder.
People should be just as outraged about billionaires who pay almost no income taxes, corporations that pay no income taxes - they are on welfare more than a struggling family.
Among those that paid no income taxes:
Archer Daniels Midland, FedEx, Nike, Dish Network...over 50 paid no income taxes - that's welfare.
