Yeah - you are right in terms of the legislation that California passes. Their laws have been horrible for the country. Let's give Texas a chance.

Give it time and see how "bad" the legislation is.

We put the people in place to do this - so let's see what happens.

Good. This part of the new law is so utterly retarded it makes me boil.

Wait until those legislators hear from the 20 something crowd who hasn't been paying attention.

I would also be very surprised if the average Texan understood the bounty hunter provision in this law before it was passed and made headlines. If they did, then like I said the whole state should be given back to Mexico.
Woulda, shoulda, coulda... It's not like this law is a surprise. Where were all those 20-somethings when this law was working its way through the TX Legislature? Where was the pro-abortion contingent during the same? This law sailed through, no problem. The lack of push back while this was being debated and passed is very telling. You're overestimating opposition to this law in Texas. The law passed the Texas Legislature on a bipartisan vote.

Texas has already bungled enough chances.

I don't need to give it time to see how "bad" it is. It is obviously bad.

The national backlash is going to severely damage the Republican party at a time they should be engaged in trying to bring more women, young people and minorities into the party rather than waging war on them.

Are you a Texas resident? Vote blue if so.

If you don’t live here then I guess you really don’t need to worry about it, do you?

No need for a national backlash. It's a TX law, impacting only those in TX, and it can be easily circumvented if the pro-abortion contingent would step up and put their money where their mouths are to fund alternative options. It's more effective to actually meet a need than to squawk about a TX state law with which one disagrees but that reflects Texas voters' values.

I didn't say it made it moral.

As usual, you missed the point.

People don't always behave how they think. So, they may think abortion is immoral but decide to get one anyway if they find themselves unintentionally pregnant.

They may also think it's immoral, but not care about whether other people engage in the behavior.

There will be a national backlash whether or not you like it or think one is needed.

It does not impact only Texans as has already been explained to you multiple times.

Oh, trust me pro-choice people nationwide from both parties will be putting their money where their mouth is to make sure this law is overturned. How do you think Roe v Wade came about?

Not a Texas resident.

Don't need to be one to concern myself with how they are waging war on women and damaging the Republican party.
