Because Trump isn’t going to have to make any plea deal. Just more goosechasing by folks whose feelings he hurt, lol.

Well, lets see if this happens.

The Manhattan district attorney’s office is said to have told Donald Trump's lawyers that it's considering filing criminal charges against his family business, the Trump Organization, in connection with fringe benefits the company awarded a top executive.
Sounds like somebody is "leaking" to the press....more than likely Trump's legal team. My opinion.

Fringe benefits charge?? that's underwhelming.

Primary question ....if this materializes....will they be filing charges against the Trump Org? or just Weisselberg? Charges against Trump Org would hit Trump in the pocket book in big way....i.e. another bankruptcy filing. Or is this a game of chicken between Weisselberg and NYDA. I don not know.

The office, led by Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance Jr., has told several attorneys for the former president it is considering charges regarding Weisselberg, a top Trump Organization executive long seen as a loyal player in Trump World.

Charges against the Trump Organization and its chief financial officer could come as early as the following week, according to the report
Thats all we know right now.

Looks like the attorneys have confirmed this reporting

https://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/loca...-says/3125808/

Quote:
Attorney Ron Fischetti confirmed to NBC an earlier New York Times report that lawyers for the Trump Organization met with prosecutors from the Manhattan District Attorney's Office on Thursday.

“It looks like they are going to come down with charges against the company and that is completely outrageous," Fischetti said.

"The meeting was on Zoom for about 9 minutes and there were 8 or 9 prosecutors ... the corporate office will plead not guilty and we will make an immediate motion to dismiss the case against the corporation," Fischetti said.

He is incapable of admitting he lied. He's a narcissist, and they cannot blame themselves ever. Ever.

A charge against the company only for the fringe benefit company car thing seems like a rather weak hand for the prosecutors. Either they are holding something back that hasn’t come out or this is about to flop.

Agreed. It appears this is all coming from the Trump camp. So you can take their confirmation with a grain of salt. The Grand Jury empaneled is a long term investigative Grand Jury, so this could be just a small piece of the puzzle coming out of a process that will continue for next few months....who knows. Lets see if there are any charges next week.

No organization or company should never give fringe benefits to top leadership, it just doesn't happen in today's business world.

Let's all follow the great example of NY, to teach the rest of the U.S. on how to run a state, organization, or your business.

well then no big problem. Should be an easy peasy fine. Trump has nothing to worry about. If all he did was not report fringe benefits as income -then it should be a short conversation with some penalties and unpaid taxes. What's all the todo about?
Me thinks there might be something more there.

The Weisselbergs have been under investigation for living in "corporate apartments" rent free, which is taxable income. Tax evasion is a felony, and both the company and Weisselberg would be implicated. This is a move to get Weisselberg for flip and tell what he knows about tax fraud, bank fraud, and tax evasion by whoever owns the company.

Conviction on a felony would essentially be a life sentence for Weisselberg, and his sons would go down with him. Everything depends on how loyal Allen is to his boss, and whether he's willing to die in prison for him.
