I suspect some of it is due to a lack of tourism and testing facilities.
Look at those least "affected" countries. How many can you find on a map? How many travelers into and out of those countries are there?
What is the testing level of those countries? Are they, like Israel and the UK, testing more than just hospitalized individuals?
Is the populace concentrated in one locale or spread out in remote villages?
There are a lot of reasons these Eastern European nations may not be reporting infections at the same rate as the Western European nations.
The article would be more useful if it explored the similarities and differences beyond vaccination of the nations in the list.

The vaccine was just introduced, so of course the majority of deaths have been the unvaccinated. There was a whole year's worth of people dying before the vaccine was available.
It would be nice to get to the bottom of the truth regarding the usefulness and effectiveness of the vaccine, instead of cherry picked or useless information, and Karen's wishing death upon all those who are unvaccinated.

The reason why I'm on here is to limit needless hospitalization/death regardless of beliefs and stamp out covid for good!
We are being fed BS.
Vaccinated people are contracting Covid, and are dying in the US.
Those numbers are increasing.
Eventually the media and CDC will have to cough up the truth.
A doc said at the beginning that mass vaccinations in the middle of a pandemic would cause more deadly and contagious variants to develop.
He said the results would be catastrophic if mass vax happened.
Maybe he was right.
