There's also move back and move back. Idaho for example moved "forward" from pre-Roe times in that they have exceptions for rape and incest. Texas moved "forward" from pre-Roe in that they have an exception for medical necessity, but not convenience abortions for rape or incest. Both are examples of a middle ground that's not all the way back to pre-Roe but definitely much farther back than under Roe. Both Idaho and Texas are six week states which is sort of a wimpy way of not completely banning them as really most people are barely going to be figuring out they missed a period at six weeks. Other states are restricting it down from the more common 23 weeks to 12 or 15 weeks. States will figure that stuff out fairly quickly.

and modify as needed rapidly also.

At least in comparison to the yahoos in DC at any rate. Although generally it's a good thing that they move so slowly on everything. Real silver lining there, DC actually passing legislation without spending 6,000 hours bickering behind the scenes and then ramming through a 7,000 page bill in 48 hours nobody has read is bad enough. Imagine if they did it more regularly. Yikes

Combined? Less than 2%. That's it. Over 98% of the 900,000 abortions performed each year (Guttmacher) are solely for the sake of convenience.

So why wouldn't it make sense that I would advocate saving approximately 450,000 female lives per year in the US?

Well if this overturn was to occur it will return many states back to the stone age which some have barely crawled out of.

By the Stone Age, do you mean where people make informed responsible decisions about who to have a relationship with and sleep with?

As opposed to the rutting animals in blue states, who have sex with anyone they meet and then just kill the baby if they get pregnant? They're so much more enlightened.

Now it'll be entirely unclear if Republicans will win in the midterms. They picked a really great time to rock the boat on a super charged issue that will absolutely rally the Democrat base to get out and vote.

So do you. But you care nothing for the woman, who you only see as an incubator. Her body doesn't count to you.

How about every time a women experiences an unwanted pregnancy the man who impregnated her undergoes a vasectomy to assure it never happens again? Would you be in favor of that? And if not, why not? Why is his body any less responsible than hers?

It is for many women. And you get no say in that until you acquire a uterus and then are forced to incubate a baby that you don't want. Then we'll talk.

Weird how back in 2021 we had no problem defining what a woman is. Fast forward to 2022 and men can have abortions too!

I'm not a lawyer but to me abortion is one of the things that is not addressed one way or the other in the constitution. It is nowhere mentioned as a right in the constitution and so is left to individual states, like driving a car or riding a horse is.
