So that's what it took for conservatives to realize the pretty rotten conditions for US defendants before their trial: A whole bunch of their own in jail. Very on brand - injustice doesn't exist until it happens to me or mine, right?

Well, more joy in Heaven over one sinner who's saved etc. etc.

The Massachusetts Democrat, a member of Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s leadership team, said that while some limited uses of solitary confinement are justified, she’s worried that law enforcement officials are deploying it to “punish” the Jan. 6 defendants or to “break them so that they will cooperate.”
I can't find the quote, but I believe it was from one of the founding fathers. To paraphrase, "How a nation treats it's criminals and prisoners tells you everything about the government and people of that nation."

The treatment of Jan 6th rioters proves that we live under tyranny. The absolute glee that Dems here and everywhere seem to experience whenever they hear that Jan 6th rioters are being abused, and their rights trampled -- that tells you that we have a whole lot of folks who would have happily joined the cheering crowds of the French Bloody Revolution as they watched beheading after beheading after beheading.

Thanks.

Although any accusation made by Jim Jordan and Devon Nunez is a bit suspect in my book.

Mother Teresa, maybe?

"Each society is judged by how it treats its weakest members".

Or Dostoyevsky?

"A society should be judged not by how it treats its outstanding citizens but by how it treats its criminals".

That isn't he exact quote. It had to do with the treatment of prisoners and criminals specifically.

That's the one!! There are others that say similar things, but that's the best one-liner for it.

Do you not see that by opening the doors and just standing there people assumed they could go in? This doesn't sound even a little fishy to you?
Have you seen the videos of cops being beaten and crushed? You keep harping on the fact that some dirty cops opened a door and that should absolve everyone who entered the capitol. I'm curious if you feel those who came in through smashed doors and windows are not at fault because some bad cop somewhere else opened a door?

You give them the same treatment which is not typically isolation for 6 months.

I have ZERO problem with the prosecute>convict>imprison system. Some of the people seem to be treated with much harsher treatment than typical before any conviction.
