Have you seen the videos of cops being beaten and crushed? You keep harping on the fact that some dirty cops opened a door and that should absolve everyone who entered the capitol. I'm curious if you feel those who came in through smashed doors and windows are not at fault because some bad cop somewhere else opened a door?
The leftist rioters last summer murdered multiple people in cold blood around the country. Including cops. But the FBI can't seem to do anything about them. All the double standards in justice are doing is creating more anger all around that will make this country a bloody hell when it finally and fully erupts. Everyone will be out for revenge on the other side eventually.

Whataboutism. How about addressing the post you are actually quoting instead of simply reverting to something that has nothing to do with this topic? Too difficult?

I'm not going to confine my words to what you want me to say. Maybe you should think about what I posted. There's a lot of people who are very angry in this country over last year's riots. Family members of these prisoners are angry. They aren't going to get lengthy sentences either and will be out within a year or two at the most. And they will be angry at their treatment. You might want to consider those facts when you defend the poor treatment here.

Your whataboutizm cries are just an EXCUSE for you to IGNORE the DOUBLE STANDARDS!!!!
Nobody is having their constitutional rights violated in this situation. They have been charged, arrested, and awaiting trial. This is how our system works for everyone. You’re the one expecting special treatment for your political allies.
It's unreal to me that thugs can take over the streets and politicians can call it the summer of love and yet the FBI has spent countless hours trying to identify every single person involved on January 6.
Sorry, this doesn't pass the sniff test.
So you think people who assaulted police officers shouldn't be held?
It appears MOST of the offenders in the Jan 6 insurrection- 70% - compared to 25% of other unrelated federal offenders, are offered bail and are released waiting trial.
So really, they're being treated QUITE mercifully.
that's a good article, though it's almost 2 months old
from the prosecutors office:
Quote:
"Comparing the per cent of January 6 defendants detained with the overall federal average is comparing apples and oranges,” a spokesperson for the office said. “The majority of federal defendants are charged with immigration or drug crimes, both of which are typically accompanied by detention. The January 6 defendants are charged with a variety of obstruction, assault, and trespassing charges. The comparison makes no sense.”
Quote:
By mid-May, at least 440 people had been arrested on charges related to the 6 January Capitol breach, according to the justice department, including at least 125 charged with assaulting or impeding law enforcement.
Of 398 defendants listed on the justice department’s Capitol breach case site as of 10 May, at least 330 were listed on the site, or in federal court records, as released from custody. At least 56 of those defendants remained in detention.
The precise number and percentage of Capitol defendants who are released versus in detention changes often, as new alleged rioters are arrested, others secure release, and a few risk re-arrest for violating the conditions of their release. The number and status of cases on the justice department’s Capitol breach website also lags behind court filings.
So you think people who assaulted police officers shouldn't be held?
From what I gather, the fact that a few bad cops opened a door absolves everyone who smashed doors and windows to get in. Period. Those cops that got injured? Their own fault for trying to do their jobs. They brought their injuries on themselves because some other cop opened a door.
You can't make up this kind of disconnect from reality.
