I love Nancy Pelosi, but if there's one big mistake she made was turning the Presidio military base into a park. Opponents at the time wanted to put low-cost housing on that site. If that had happened there'd be fewer homeless on the streets.
Bay Area zoning is a major issue. The obsession with keeping property values high has always been at a fever pitch up there.
Name a Speaker of the United States House of Representatives that got involved in local crime matters in their district? Tip O’Neil? Newt Gingrich? Who????
She sure has no issues got involved in different local issue

If you build it, they will come!
Low-cost housing attracts more helpless people.
Chances are good, there would be no "fewer homeless on the streets."

That’s not Pelosi’s business to “do something about.” She’s the damn speaker of the United States House of Representatives. Is this a joke?
What are any of your representatives doing about the shoplifting and crime in your areas? And ALL of you live near plenty of shoplifting and crime if you live in a town of at least 10000 people.
That’s the only requirement? 10,000 people? My cousins in Norway live in a city well over 10,000 and there is virtually no crime. No littering, no graffiti.

That’s your cousins. YOU don’t live in Norway, and there’s plenty of crime and shoplifting where you live. What is your representative doing about it?
Living behind fences, gates, security systems, and guards. This is one area where she doesn't believe in her own collectivist ideology. That, of course, is the mark of a hypocrite.
She is too busy stocking her $20,000 freezer with different flavors of $13 ice cream bars.
