-both create their own marketplace
-landlords buy multiple properties, taking those properties off the already scarce market for individual buyers, and taking advantage of the fact that not living in a brick and mortar dwelling is illegal in most of the country (see anti-vagrancy and anti-camping laws)
-drug dealers get their customers addicted
-neither really creates any wealth
-a landlord is the epitome of rentier economics, getting wealth just from owning something rather than creating a product or performing a service
-drug dealers not creating wealth is self explanatory
I'm American, you can't tell me to get out of my own country. And besides, we have the freedom to disagree, the bill of rights still exists last I checked
No you can’t disagree that we remain free, comrade. It’s un-American. I won’t accept the tyranny you are proposing. If you won’t go to North Korea or Iran I’ll make some calls and have you escorted to a country that is copacetic with your collectivist ideals. And there won’t be Firebirds or Camaros there. Those are for free people. There might be some oxen...
Yikes, talk about a man with no sympathy. No wonder 50% of Americans ignore him and refuse to get a vaccine, he has yet to make any good decision and has broken every promise. I can see the buyers remorse from Democrats now.
In his defense he probably doesn't remember any such memo.

Got news for you, other first world countries offer social housing for those who can't afford the private market, like the UK. That would be a start....

Ok, go there. Just leave my country. I like citizens with a can-do mentality, not citizens with a can-mooch mentality.
It isn’t stupid to refuse a portion the money owed when taking it means you are unable to evict the tenant for a set period of time afterwards whether they pay the rent or not. It’s actually the opposite of stupid.
from my link:
'But thousands of building owners across the country are rejecting the government offer. They say the aid often has too many strings attached, such as preventing them from removing problematic tenants or compelling them to turn over sensitive financial information to government agencies or contractors."
They are prejudice against their tenant, so they are not taking any money. What is the renters recourse when they encounter the bad landlord and they can't afford to move? (I know what mine was, but then that's a part of this discussion)
When painting all low-income renters as bad actors, how do we paint slum lords? Doing their job? And we are going to pretend that there are no bad actors in the rental business?
Take the money, proceed with eviction later if the problem isn't resolved --- you still have rent money do you not?

UK isn't a first world country. They had to be bailed out of 2 world wars, have to provide free everything to people, have obnoxious royalty. Gross existence to me and we are unfortunately headed down the same path.
Maybe off topic, but why does it seem that people almost instantly lose their humanity and compassion when they become property owners with the express intent to profit off of it rather than just buying a personal residence?....

There are always risks when a person becomes a 'business owner'. Always ---
