If a faction continues to promote the myth of large scale election fraud, they will never have to deal with the actual reasons for the loss. But that is a path that will just lead to more losses, which will also be blamed on fraud. It's a death spiral -- a metaphorical moth drawn to the flame of conspiracy theories.

Well ... other than that there wasn't much of a platform, nor hardly any planks! Rumpy's failure to respond to SARS COV 2 and his total disregard for Americans ... that was the final coffin nail.

IMHO, Trump lost because of his personality and ego, plain and simple.

Fact is not one judge would look at the evidence. I did and many Trump supporters did too.

You won't because you know that the evidence is there and here it is.. Of course you will not look at it.

Trump gained 500,000 votes in 2020 than he got in 2016. Trump became MORE POPULAR . A half a million more votes in each battle ground state.. Trump won..

The more embarrassing bit about the recent election was that the Republican Party - who are supposed to be some sort of political entity with a plan for government - completely failed to define a 2020 platform except (paraphrased) "We luvs Donald Trump and want more of him."

And Trump won, then lost due to the one talent that he has in abundance: He is really, really competent at making it about himself. The bride at every wedding, the corpse at every funeral.

The media propelled him through the Republican primary because he was good copy - look at those wacky hijinks he's up to this week, woo! And he rode his name recognition to victory - didn't hurt him that the Hillary campaign essentially acted as if it was a done deal, more of a coronation than an election. Because they're idiots - or rather, because the Hillary campaign was staffed by people who couldn't fathom the idea that she wasn't owed. No attempt at winning over the doubtful. She had waited, now it was her turn. (The same attitude that lost her the nomination back in 2008.)

Of course, the all-Trump all-the-time coverage is a double-edged sword, the job as President comes with certain expectations, and 2020 became not Trump v. Biden, it became a referendum on Trump. And a whole lot of Americans felt that perhaps the joke had grown stale and it would be nice to have the class clown back on the sidelines. Particularly as there was a crisis being mishandled in front of them.
If I were to give your post credence, now look where we are at? We have a crisis on the border, record inflation, future lockdowns and other mandates, stale economic growth while there is pent up demand, high unemployment, and record spending. I’d take the class clown over the village idiot any day.

"Fact". If you actually read any of the court documents yourself, you would see that at least some did look at the evidence that was presented to them. Too bad it was a whole lot of nonsense. Read a ruling, you'll see why it was nonsense if you actually look at it all objectively.

But saying he lost "because he had no platform" has to rank among the most ludicrous of statements.
He literally had no platform. There was no far-reaching vision or statement of his goals or intentions. It was simply whatever whim caught his attention for a few days, or minutes.

Trumpers were deluded into thinking he had a platform but if you ask what it is, each one would have a different answer based on their personal take on Trump and his antics.

Trump cut his own throat so many times during the four years we had to endure him that everyone had their own example, or stack of examples, of why he was unfit for the job. He could have saved himself but his narcissism, ego, bullying, and intentional ignorance got in the way.

Trump lost because people he claimed were RINOs wouldn't vote for him. Why should they? Why would they want to throw their support behind that reprehensible man?

Trump was not a unifier of the party, he would not pivot to find common ground with other voters, he could not expand the 'base', he offended many.

Why did Trump lose Arizona? Two words only: John McCain, a favorite son of the state. Trump fractured the party in the state of Arizona, he only needed to knock a corner off, just a chip, to assure his defeat. He managed to do that.

Literally. The GOP didn't even bother to write one in 2020. Because the "platform" was whatever the orange one said it was from one day to the next. And if what he says today completely contradicts what he said yesterday, then THAT became the new "platform."

The GOP ceded the party to Trump. And now they stand for absolutely nothing aside from total subservience to him.

That's it. That's their platform.
