It looks like Liz is starting to show how desperate she is. A few months ago, she was one of the top four Republicans in the House of Representatives. Now, she has been cast out of that group, the Wyoming Republican Party has censured her, and she is down bigly in the polls for her House seat, which will be contested in November of next year.
So she is apparently down to invoking vague references to the supposed thoughts and concerns of her legendary father, now retired, in what looks like her 'grasping at straws'.
Can only see the thread title (thank you ignore list) and normally wouldn't comment in this person's thread but the idea of Dick Cheney being "troubled about the state of the Republican Party" is music to my eyes and I'm too elated about reading that to keep quiet at the moment. Thank you for the wonderful news!
I share your enthusiasm about this news but for different reasons I'm sure, based on your posting history. If you think some nationalist ultra right-wing party is going to inherent the Republican party and be accepted by mainstream America then you are sadly mistaken. Dick Cheney knows that the GOP is going down in flames, led by the narcissist Trump.
I always said that Donald Trump was the best thing that could have ever happened to the Democrats. He's done more damage to the GOP than the Dems could have possibly achieved on their own. And this is the best part: he's STILL doing it!!! The Dems not only took the Presidency but both chambers as well. Yes, thank you Donald Trump!
If he's not concerned about the Dem's as well he's not worth listening to. They have all the power, not the R's, so who do we need to worry about more?
LOL. I'd like to take Dick Cheney out to lunch in either downtown Portland, Seattle or San Francisco. His call. But before we eat, I'd like both of us to take an hour long stroll thru the downtown of chosen city from above. Then we can sit down and talk about the problems of the Republican Party LOL.

Plus a warmonger who sent our troops to die in a futile nation building effort that only destabilized the middle east. Cheney made a lot of money on that deal though.
When Dick Cheney is troubled by the party, that means it is going in the right direction. Liz Cheney, Murkowski, McConnell, etc all need to be purged as quick as possible.
